Betting the GIFT (Goal In First Ten) is simple. Pick whether or not a game will have a goal scored in the first 10 minutes of play (00:00-09:59). It's that easy and all you have to do is root for anyone to score and you win. It is an area of hockey betting with a high success rate league-wide, with over 78% of the league currently cashing at 50% or better this season. By the end of the season, that number should be even closer to 90% meaning there is still plenty of money left to be made from GIFTs this season.

The Stars are expected to send out Casey DeSmith to guard the crease. The 34-year-old American comes in at 9-2-4, carrying a 2.42 GAA and an .913 Save% on the season. Dallas is 25-18 (.581) cashing the GIFT this season, including a 13-9 record (.700) away from American Airlines Center. The Stars have covered the GIFT in four of their last five games and six of their last eight, including three of their last four on the road.
On the opposite end of the ice, Washington will likely roll out Logan Thompson to defend the net. The 28-year-old Canadian is 15-11-4 carrying a 2.37 GAA and a .915 Save% this season. The Capitals are 29-14 (.674) cashing the GIFT this season with a 15-8 record (.652) on the friendly Capital One Arena ice. The Caps have cashed the GIFT in four of their last six games, including three straight at home.
