Top NHL Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (4/13)

Every NHL team has between one and three games remaining this season, but there's still a lot to be decided over the final four days of the 2025-26 campaign. Whether it’s divisional titles in the Atlantic or Pacific Divisions, or the final playoff spots in both the Eastern and Western Conferences, a lot is up for grabs.

I've got you covered from a sports betting angle for Monday's 10-game slate in The National. Here are my top three NHL bets tonight:

Carolina Hurricanes (-115) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (-105) | 6.5 (+115/-145

The Hurricanes (52-22-6) have the Metropolitan Division wrapped up, but they'll still be playing hard on Monday night as they attempt to capture the top seed in the Eastern Conference. They're priced in the pick 'em range against the Flyers (41-27-12), who are desperately trying to hang onto third place in the Metro. This divisional tilt gets underway at 7:00 p.m. ET from Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, PA.

I feel that this game is mispriced by quite a bit. I guess the thinking is that the Flyers, who are at home, must win this game to stay in the playoff race, therefore they'll be laying it all on the line.

However, Carolina has absolutely dominated this series in recent history, winning eight straight head-to-head meetings and going 9-1-0 across the last 10 matchups. During the 10-matchup sample size, they've out-scored Philadelphia 3.7 to 2.1 and out-shot them 32.8 to 24.1.

The Canes are also in impeccable form, going 10-3-0 in their last 13 games. Over the last 10 games specifically, Carolina is third in goal differential per 60 minutes (+1.3) and first in Corsi percentage (61.8 percent). It could be a close game considering the circumstances, but I do think this veteran Hurricanes squad emerges victorious.

Bet: Carolina Hurricanes Moneyline (-115)

Buffalo Sabres (-200) vs. Chicago Blackhawks (+165) | 6.5 (+100/-120

The Sabres (49-23-8) have won three straight games, and they'll try to pick up two more points against the lowly Blackhawks (28-38-14) tonight as they attempt to lock down an Atlantic Division championship. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET from the United Center in Chicago, IL.

I went back-and-forth trying to decide whether to play the Sabres -1.5 or take their team total (3.5 at -125) over tonight. I don't think you can go wrong either way, but I like the plus-money payout that comes with Buffalo to stretch out a multi-goal lead.

For starters, the Sabres should still be bringing their best effort as they attempt to secure a division title. They've won three straight games, with each of those victories coming by 2+ goals. The offense continues to play well, as Buffalo is ranked 11th in goals per 60 minutes (3.26) and eighth in total shots on goal (295) over the last 10 games.

For as solid as Buffalo looks right now, this is just as much of a fade of Chicago. The Hawks are sliding, having won just one of their last nine games (1-6-1). All six of the regulation losses finished as multi-goal defeats for Chicago. Over the last 10 games specifically, the Blackhawks are last in goal differential per 60 minutes (-1.9), while sitting 30th in both team GAA (4.3) and Corsi percentage (44.32 percent). With each team's current form, you can start to see how a blowout win for Buffalo appears likely.

Bet: Buffalo Sabres -1.5 (+115)

Los Angeles Kings (-140) vs. Seattle Kraken (+120) | 5.5 (-130/+105

The Kings (34-26-19) enter the new week riding a four-game winning streak, and they're currently in possession of the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. They'll take on the recently-eliminated Kraken (34-34-11), who will miss the playoffs for a fourth time in their five-year existence. This Pacific Division clash is slated for 9:30 p.m. ET from Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, WA.

Los Angeles should take care of business in this one, but I actually think the best way to bet on this game is to take Seattle to stay under its team total of 2.5 goals. This wager also comes with a +105 payout.

Like the above-mentioned Blackhawks, the Kraken have also thrown in the towel on the 2025-26 season. They're just 2-6-0 in their last eight games, scoring two or fewer goals in all six of the losses. Over the last 10 games, Seattle is 30th in goal per 60 minutes (2.43) and high-danger shots on goal (25), while ranking 29th in shooting percentage (9.36 percent). Look for Los Angeles, who has historically been a defensive-minded club, to put the clamps on in this one.

Bet: Seattle Kraken Team Total Under 2.5 Goals (+105)
