Top NHL Odds, Picks & Predictions: Sunday (10/22)
The NHL season is underway! Today we have a heavy slate of games, so let's highlight a few.

Calgary Flames (-135) vs. Detroit Red Wings (+114) | O/U 6.5 (-120/+100)
The Flames looked great to start the season with a 5-3 win, but they've cooled down recently with just three points in their last four games. Jacob Markstrom struggled early on but has been much better lately, unfortunately, the offense, besides Elias Lindholm and Jonathan Huberdeau, has been disappointing.
Detroit is playing well to start the season and is currently on top of the Atlantic. This team showed optimism towards the end of last season, and it's paying off now. The addition of Alex DeBrincat is working, as he has eight points, and Dylan Larkin has seven assists.
The Red Wings are coming in playing in back-to-back games so it will be James Reimer between the pipes, and although he has shut out, it was against the Blue Jackets. The rest advantage will favor the Flames, and the offense will look much better tonight.

Boston Bruins (-245) vs. Anaheim Ducks (+200) | O/U 6 (-115/-105)
The Ducks are coming off a season where they scored the fewest points in the league, but luck wasn't on their side, and they missed out on Connor Bedard sweepstakes with the No. 2 pick. Trevor Zegras and Troy Terry are two phenomenal players that Anaheim can hopefully build their future around, but this is still a very young roster that will have another tough season.
Not only did the Bruins score the most points last season, but at 135, it was the most ever in league history. They're off to another great, winning their first three, with the reigning Vezina Trophy winner Linus Ullmark posting a .958 save percentage and their best skater David Pastrnak having four goals.
It will be last year's best team against last year's worst. Both teams have back-to-back games, but Boston's backup goalie Jeremy Swayman started last night. You can't go against Ullmark in this matchup.
