Top NHL Parlay Odds & Picks for Wednesday, May 25 (2022)

The Avalanche will come home for the opportunity to close out the series and move onto the Western Conference Finals. The offense has been played really well in St. Louis and hopefully they can carry that back to Denver. The Blues offense is not slumping either, but they will need to step it up a notch to keep their season alive.

St. Louis Blues (+205) vs. Colorado Avalanche (-260)

(Puck Drop 8:10 p.m. ET)

After a slow first period, Colorado came down like some heavy sworn of weathering element with four goals in the second period including Nazem Kadri with two. He grabbed another one in the third for the hat trick.

Although after they gained a quick  4-1 lead in the first part of the second period, the special teams almost blew it. The Blues would go 2-for-2 in that period with the man advantage and cut the deficit to 4-3. The Avs are just 66.7% on the penalty kill, which is last of all the remaining teams in the playoffs.

The Blues are crushing it with the power play as they’re first amongst playoff teams at 35.3%. Colorado has been much better with the 5-on-5 during this series, so St. Louis just needs to continue to light up the lamp when they have the man advantage so have a shot in Game 5.

Dave Perron has been the big culprit as he has three power play goals in this series and is second with nine overall in the playoffs. The special teams will have to do better against him, but also keep an eye on the Brayden Schenn on the right circle and Ryan O’Reilly in the center. It’s obvious why they’ve been so successful on the power play.

It’s also obvious the Blues’ Achilles’ Heel in the series is Vile Husso. With Jordan Binnington out for at least this series with a lower body injury, it could very be the end of his season as Husso continues to struggle. In the last four games going back to the first round against Minnesota he’s allowed 18 goals and his .884 save percentage.  No matter how many scoring opportunities the Blues get, it won’t help if their goalie can keep it close.

While Husso has struggled against the Avs offense, none of the big three for Colorado have contributed. Their two leading scorers, Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon, have yet to find the back of the net in this series. If these two can get it going tonight, it will close the door on the Blues’ season.

You have to love how deep this lineup is when you score 15 goals in the four games and none of them come from your best players. Husso has looked overmatched in the playoffs, and Colorado will punch their ticket to the Western Conference Finals tonight.

Leg 1: Avalanche ML

Total Goals O/U 6.5

Colorado has brought the firepower since Husso has been behind the net. Going back home in a series-clinching game should give them a spark to put up the points. St. Louis still has the offensive talent, and they’ve been able to put the goals too. We should expect this to be a high-scoring matchup.

Leg 2: Over 6.5

Nobody is more due to a score a goal in this series McKinnon. He has 17 shots in this series and has yet to light the lamp. In a big game, when the light shines the brightest, the stars know how to perform and the longtime captain will break out in this game.

Leg 3: Nathan MacKinnon Anytime scorer (+115)

Total parlay odds on DraftKings: +310
