Top NHL Playoffs Prop Bet Odds & Picks for Friday, May 20 (2022)

Game 2 is set to get underway in the Second Round of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs for two different matchups on Friday with some great angles to attack in the prop betting market. Below, I give out my two best NHL player prop bets for Friday.

As a reminder, I am playing all player props for a half-unit each during the playoffs, or 0.5% of your betting bankroll. Follow me on Twitter to get all of my plays on days without full write-ups.

Seth Jarvis Over 0.5 Points (-105)

The Carolina Hurricanes host the New York Rangers in with a 1-0 series lead following Wednesday’s 2-1 overtime victory. After successfully hitting this prop in that game, I am going back to the well once again.

Seth Jarvis was the second best forward for Carolina in that game behind linemate Sebastian Aho, whom Jarvis set up for the game-tying goal in the winding minutes of the third period. The chemistry between Jarvis and Aho has been outstanding in these playoffs and I expect that to continue.

In Game 1, Jarvis was third amongst Carolina skaters in expected goals for (xGF) and, as I mentioned, collected an assist. Now recording at least one point in three of his last four playoff games, I believe this number is too short to pass up.

Matthew Tkachuk Anytime Scorer (+125)

Following one of the craziest playoff hockey games I have ever seen, the Calgary Flames are set to host the Edmonton Oilers in Game 2 after beating them 9-6 in Game 1. Matthew Tkachuk recorded a hat trick in that game, and I think he will have a great opportunity to get at least one goal again in this contest.

Tkachuk was all over the ice in Game 1 as he led both teams in xGF, goals, and shots on goal. Leading the Flames in xGF, the Gaudreau/Lindholm/Tkachuk line was as unstoppable as they were all season.

This season, that line produced 301 combined points, a truly incredible stat. Going against a team that has the second-highest five-on-five expected goals against (xGA) per 60 minutes amongst the remaining teams in the playoffs, I like the Gaudreau/Lindholm/Tkachuk line to continue to dominate and for Tkachuk to find success once again in Game 2.

Best of luck!
