Top NHL Playoffs Prop Bet Odds & Picks for Saturday, May 28 (2022)

Game 6 is set to get underway in the Second Round of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs between the Carolina Hurricanes and the New York Rangers. Despite only one game tonight, there are still a couple of great angles to attack in the prop betting market.

Below, I give out my two best NHL player prop bets for Saturday.

As a reminder, I am playing all player props for a half-unit each during the playoffs, or 0.5% of your betting bankroll. Follow me on Twitter to get all of my plays on days without full write-ups.

Mika Zibanejad Anytime Goalscorer (+170)

The New York Rangers return home for Game 6 after losing 3-1 to Carolina on Thursday. Mika Zibanejad registered the lone goal for New York in that game, and I believe It is worth taking another stab at him at this price.

Zibanejad has been the most consistent offensive contributor for the Rangers in this series, as he has logged a goal in three straight games and added an assist during that stretch. Playing alongside Chris Kreider and Frank Vatrano, Zibanejad should be able to get some good looks in this game once again, as that line had an expected goals for (xGF) percentage of 56.1 this season.

Returning home is huge for the Rangers in this game as the home team has won each game in this series. Carolina’s goaltender Antti Raanta has not been nearly as dominant over his two road games in New York as he is 0-2 with a 0.900 save percentage.

Frank Vatrano Under 1.5 Shots on Goal (+140)

As I mentioned above, the Kreider/Zibanejad/Vatrano line has been great all season. That being said, Frank Vatrano’s shooting ability is not what generates the offense for this line.

Vatrano has gone under this total in three straight games, including both home games for the Rangers in this series. Carolina is an incredibly difficult team to play against due to their stingy defense, which has been the driving factor (along with excellent goaltending) for low shot totals and goals scored in this series.

In fact, the Rangers are only averaging 25.4 shots on goal per game through the first five contests in this series. While I expect this line to get a lot of ice time this game and to generate some good scoring chances, the triggermen will most likely be Kreider and Zibanejad.

Best of luck!
