Top NHL Playoffs Prop Bet Odds & Picks for Wednesday, May 11 (2022)

Game 5 is set to get underway in three different series on Wednesday night with some great angles to attack in the prop bets market. Below, I give my three best NHL player prop bets for Wednesday.

As a reminder, I am playing all player props for a half-unit each during the playoffs. Follow me on Twitter to get all of my plays on days without full write-ups.

Matthew Tkachuk Over 0.5 Assists (+115)

The Calgary Flames look to take a 3-2 series lead as they host the Dallas Stars following Monday’s 4-1 win. We hit this prop in Monday’s article and I am going back to the well once again as Tkachuk has recorded an assist in three of the first four games of this series.

The Tkachuk/Lindholm/Gaudreau line continues to play some outstanding hockey, which should not shock anyone as each guy on this line is a 40-goal scorer. Despite a slower start in this series, this line really picked It up in Game 4 as they generated 0.806 expected goals for (xGF) when on the ice together.

This figure was a game-high for any line on either team and in a pivotal Game 5, I expect them to carry the majority of play for Calgary. While Jake Oettinger continues to stand on his head for Dallas, I expect a regression game to come soon as Calgary’s offense has continued to improve as the series has gone on.

Ryan Strome Over 0.5 Assists (+160)

The New York Rangers look to avoid elimination as they now trail 3-1 in the series following Monday’s 7-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Despite the poor Game 4 outing, the Panarin/Strome/Copp line has probably been the best forward group for the Rangers this series.

Strome has gone over this total in two of the first four games in this series and could have an excellent chance to do so again in Game 5. Not only does Strome play alongside two talented wingers in Panarin and Copp, but he also is on New York’s first power-play unit.

This season, the Rangers ranked fourth in the league in power-play percentage. In a series where each game has seen at least seven total goals scored, this number is too long to pass up.

Sam Bennett Anytime Scorer (+160)

The Florida Panthers will look to take a 3-2 series lead as they host the Washington Capitals following Monday’s 3-2 overtime victory. In that game, Carter Verhaeghe notched the game-winner for his second goal of the game.

It was not shocking that Verhaeghe was involved in the game-winner, as the Huberdeau/Bennett/Verhaeghe line was by far the most dominant forward group offensively in that game. While Verhaeghe got the shine in Game 4, I think It is Sam Bennett’s turn in Game 5.

Playing alongside Huberdeau makes this task much more doable, as the Panthers winger notched 85 assists in 80 games during the regular season. Bennett scored in Game 1 and notched a goal in his last regular-season game against the Capitals, and I could definitely see Huberdeau setting him up once again.

Best of luck!
