Top NHL Playoffs Prop Bet Odds & Picks for Wednesday, May 25 (2022)

Game 5 is set to get underway in the second round of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs between the St. Louis Blues and the Colorado Avalanche. Despite only one game tonight, there are still a couple of great angles to attack in the prop betting market.

Below, I give out my two best NHL player prop bets for Wednesday.

As a reminder, I am playing all player props for a half-unit each during the playoffs, or 0.5% of your betting bankroll. Follow me on Twitter to get all of my plays on days without full write-ups.

Bet $10, Win $200 if Blues or Avalanche Score a Goal >>

Nazem Kadri Anytime Goal Scorer (+175)

Playing with a massive chip on his shoulder, Nazem Kadri has taken matters into his own hands as he has scored in two straight games for the Avalanche. Not only has he scored in two straight, but he recorded a hat trick in Game 4.

Coach Jared Bednar made a change when he swapped Rantanen and Lehkonen to create the Rantanen/Kadri/Nichushkin line. This line dominated in Game 4 as they combined for four goals and seven points, and obviously Bednar will stick with this line in Game 5 after those results.

This play is also a fade of Blues goaltender Ville Husso. Husso has now allowed four or more goals in four straight playoff starts, posting a mere 0.847 save percentage over that stretch.

Over seven games against the Blues between the regular and postseason, Kadri has now scored six times.

Pavel Buchnevich Over 0.5 Assists (+150)

Facing potential elimination, I expect the St. Louis Blues to throw out their top-six forwards all game. The Buchnevich/O’Reilly/Perron line has been the best forward group by far for the Blues this postseason, and they will need to continue their success if St. Louis is going to pull off the upset.

Playing alongside David Perron, the leading goal scorer for the Blues in this series, Buchnevich has collected at least one assist in three straight games. In these playoffs, Buchnevich now has eight assists over 10 games.

Despite winning Game 4, Colorado goaltender Darcy Kuemper was a little shaky as he allowed three goals on just 20 shots for a 0.850 save percentage. His metrics back this up as he posted -1.07 goals saved above expected (GSAx).

That being said, the Blues should find the back of the net at least a couple of times. If that is the case, Buchnevich will most likely be involved.

Best of luck!
