Tim Stutzle under 1.5 Shots on Goal (+140)

The Atlantic Division’s seventh-place Ottawa Senators travel to Arizona today to take on the Central Division eighth-place Coyotes. This is the first meeting between these two teams this season.

Ottawa is coming off of a 3-0 loss to the Florida Panthers Thursday night. In that game, we saw the return of forward Josh Norris.

Norris’ return, obviously, means that at least one or more forwards saw a decrease in minutes as Norris is a top-six guy. One of the guys whose playing time took a dip on Thursday was young forward Tim Stutzle, who saw a 10.3% decrease in ice time from his previous five-game average.

With the decreased opportunities, Stutzle finished Thursday’s game with zero shots on goal. I think it is entirely possible that we see the same thing today, and the number at +140 is too good to pass up.

Cole Caufield over 0.5 Points (-120)

The Atlantic Division’s eighth-place Montreal Canadiens travel to Edmonton to take on the Pacific Division’s fourth-place Edmonton Oilers. This is the second meeting between these two teams this season as Edmonton won the first matchup 7-2.

Montreal is a new team under coach Martin St. Louis as they have won six of the 10 games he has coached. Under St. Louis, Caufield has regained the confidence that made him such a dangerous rookie last season.

In the 10 games under St. Louis, Caufield has registered at least one point in eight of them. Caufield has a great matchup to continue that today against Edmonton.

Edmonton has given up 3.18 goals per game this season, which ranks just 23rd in the league. Oddsmakers believe this will be a high-scoring game as well with the total set at 6.5 and the juice towards the over, so I think Caufield will collect at least one point at some juncture of this game.

Alex DeBrincat over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+125)

The Central Division’s seventh-place Chicago Blackhawks travel to Philadelphia to take on the Metropolitan Division’s eighth-place Flyers. This is the first matchup between these two teams this season.

DeBrincat has been on a roll recently and has not been afraid to shoot the puck, as he has surpassed this total in six of his last seven games. He also has an excellent opportunity in this matchup to continue that as Philadelphia surrenders many shots on goal per game.

This season, the Flyers rank 27th in the league in shots on goal allowed per game (33.7). The Flyers look lifeless out on the ice at this point in the season, and I do not think DeBrincat will have to work very hard to get at least four shots in this contest.
