Jonathan Marchessault Anytime Scorer (+170)

The Pacific Division’s fourth-place Vegas Golden Knights travel to Winnipeg to take on the Central Division’s sixth-place Jets. The main storyline for Vegas entering this game is the abundance of injuries plaguing their forward group.

Mark Stone, Reilly Smith, and Max Pacioretty are all projected to miss this game, which means Marchessault will get more opportunities to find the back of the net. Marchessault has already seen a large increase in playing time due to these injuries as he is averaging 17.63 minutes per game over his last nine contests.

Across those nine games, Marchessault has logged five goals and now has a great matchup against Winnipeg. The Jets’ defense has been brutal this season as they rank 26th in the league in five-on-five expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA).

Connor Hellebuyck is the projected starting goaltender for the Jets and has been on an awful slide recently. Over his last seven starts, Hellebuyck has posted a troubling 0.871 save percentage and a 4.14 goals allowed average.

Jakub Vrana Anytime Scorer (+210)

The Atlantic Division’s fifth-place Detroit Red Wings travel to Edmonton to take on the Pacific Division’s third-place Oilers. This game will be Detroit’s second-straight without wingers Robby Fabbri (torn ACL) and Tyler Bertuzzi (health and safety list).

With both of those guys out, Vrana jumps up to the second line. An increase in opportunity is something Vrana will take advantage of as he has played great hockey since making his season debut last week.

Over his three games played, Vrana has three goals and is averaging 3.33 shots on goal. Vrana has a good matchup against the Oilers tonight, a game in which oddsmakers expect a lot of goals as the total currently sits at 6.5.

I like Vrana to keep it going tonight against an Edmonton team that has allowed an average of 3.2 goals scored per game over their last five contests.

Conor Garland u0.5 Points (-115)

The Metropolitan Division’s seventh-place New Jersey Devils travel to Vancouver to take on the Pacific Division’s fifth-place Canucks. I am fading the Canucks offense tonight as Nico Daws is projected to start in net for the Devils.

Over his last eight starts, Daws has amassed an impressive 0.928 save percentage and a mere 2.25 goals allowed average. One of those starts came against Vancouver, a game in which Daws stopped 36 of 38 shots and Garland failed to record a point.

Garland has found himself absent from the scoresheet recently as he has failed to record a point in five of his last seven games. I think this trend continues against the surging Daws in net.

Best of luck!
