Blake Wheeler Anytime Scorer (+250)
The Central Division’s sixth-place Winnipeg Jets host the Pacific Division’s fourth-place Vegas Golden Knights. These teams just squared off a week ago, a game in which the Jets scored seven times with Blake Wheeler notching the opening goal.
Laurent Brossoit was pulled early in that contest as he allowed Winnipeg to score four times on just 13 shots. Brossoit is projected to start once again against Winnipeg as Vegas is on the second half of a back-to-back and Logan Thompson got the start Monday.
I am optimistic that the Jets can stuff the scoresheet against Brossoit once again, which means first-liner Blake Wheeler has a good shot to find the back of the net. Wheeler has three goals over his last five games.
Nick Schmaltz Anytime Scorer (+165)
We have a battle of two last-place teams as the Central Division’s eighth-place Arizona Coyotes host the Pacific Division’s eighth-place Seattle Kraken. Nick Schmaltz scored twice in his last game against the Kraken, and I believe he is in a good spot to find the back of the net once again.
Philipp Grubauer is the projected starting goaltender for the Kraken and remains the worst starting goaltender in hockey as he ranks dead-last amongst starters in five-on-five goals saved above expected per 60 minutes (GSAx). Over his last six road starts, Grubauer possesses a mere 0.892 save percentage and a 3.33 goals allowed average.
Schmaltz’ last outing against Seattle kick-started a great scoring run that I expect to continue on Tuesday. Over his last 16 games, Schmaltz has recorded 13 goals.
Filip Forsberg Anytime Scorer (+115)
The Central Division’s third-place Nashville Predators travel to Los Angeles to take on the Pacific Division’s second-place Kings. There may not be a hotter offense in hockey right now than the Nashville Predators, who are averaging an outstanding 4.9 goals scored per game over their last 10 contests.
Spear-heading the scoring efforts from the forward group has been star winger Filip Forsberg, who has now scored eight goals over his last seven games. Forsberg also buried a goal in Nashville’s last game against the Kings back in early January.
Los Angeles’ projected starting goaltender, Cal Petersen, faces a tough task in trying to slow down the Predators. Petersen has been known to have bad outings as he has allowed four or more goals in three of his last six starts.
Best of luck!
