The new favorite to win the whole tournament, the Aftershocks, have been impressive down the stretch, winning all but one game by a margin of seven points or more. The last time we saw them on the court, it was more of what we’ve seen all TBT, as Markis McDuffie and Darral Willis Jr. combined for 32 points as they rolled the highly touted Gutter Cat Gang.
In the frontcourt, James Dickey dominated the boards with Willis Jr., scooping up five defensive rebounds each to secure the win.
As for Americana for Autism, the underdogs here are used to the role, knocking off favorite Florida TNT 93-83 on Thursday in one of the bigger upsets of the round. While they have no clear stars, a steady dose of Chris Wright and Olufemi Olujobi has been the prescription thus far.
I don’t, however, expect that to be enough, as the more talented and experienced AfterShocks cruise to a victor to advance to the finals on Tuesday.
