Top TBT Odds & Pick for Tuesday: Championship Game (8/2)

On Tuesday, it all comes down to one final game. The final two remaining teams are playing in a Winner-Take-All tournament for $1 million.

The Basketball Tournament has been extremely fun throughout the entire summer. We’ve been able to see familiar faces have success on the basketball court again. There’s nothing better than that.

Here’s a look at the Championship game of The Basketball Tournament. Again, this is going to be extremely competitive knowing that the winner of this tournament wins $1 million!

Americana For Autism vs. Blue Collar U

Americana For Autism has won five straight games, putting themselves in the Finals of the tournament. They’ve scored 78 points per game while allowing 71.2 points per game. On paper, there’s nothing that really stands out with this squad. They’ve been very good defensively and have earned 16 assists per game on the offensive end of the ball.

However, on the offensive end, Americana For Autism has also allowed 13.6 turnovers per game, which is a bit high for a team in the Finals.

What I will say is that this team does have depth, averaging 32 points per game from its bench. They don’t have a single player going crazy on the offensive end. It’s all a team effort. Isaiah Swann has led the team in scoring with 12.4 points per game while Delroy James has added 12 points per game.

But remember, Americana for Autism only beat Peacock Nation by one point in their first game of the tournament. Later in the tournament, they just got by HBCUnited and then in their most recent game, Americana for Autism defeated the AfterShocks by three.

They’ve been able to pull out some big-time wins in big moments.

Meanwhile, Blue Collar U has averaged 80 points per game. They haven’t had as many scares down the stretch. Opponents have scored just 67.2 points per game in the tournament. Blue Collar U should be better on the glass, as they’ve added 34.8 rebounds per game. They’ll also more than likely be the more dominant team inside the paint, as they’ve scored 28.4 points per game in the paint.

Their paint production has dropped in the last couple of games, but Blue Collar U will still be the superior team inside.

They’re led by C.J. Massinburg and Wes Clark, who both have 15.2 points per game. When you have two reliable scorers on your team, good things usually happen.

On top of that, Blue Collar U is also getting 12.6 points from Nick Perkins and 10.4 points from Blake Hamilton. Blue Collar U doesn’t have incredible depth but they do have the better all-around scorers. I’m not so sure depth matters in a winner-take-all final.

Massinburg, Clark, and Perkins will more than likely get at least 25 minutes in this game and could end up playing the entire game if it comes down to it.

I’m going to take Blue Collar U to get the job done against Americana for Autism. Blue Collar U has more scoring options and should be able to have more success in the paint between scoring and rebounding.

Bet: Blue Collar U -4.5 (-115 at DraftKings)
