We’re headed to the semifinals of the Big3 Tournament this weekend.
On Sunday, the Chicago Triplets will battle the LA Riot for a spot in the Big3 Championship game. That matchup will be followed by another game between the Dallas Power and Miami 305.

Chicago Triplets vs. LA Riot
The Chicago Triplets earned a 50-42 win over the Detroit Amps to make it into the semis. Ultimately, Montrezl Harrell was third on the team in scoring after adding just 11 points. He’s had much better games this year. However, it’s good to see the team is still capable of winning even when Harrell isn’t at his best. The team is still without Jason Richardson, but Nasir Core and Brandon Moss have stepped up and played their roles well.
On the other hand, the LA Riot trailed at the half against the Boston Ball Hogs. Still, they found a way in the second half behind Dwight Howard, who was tremendous.
Howard added 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Jordan Crawford also contributed 18 points. As long as those two are on their game, it’s going to be hard for any team to stop them.
The matchup between Howard and Harrell should be fun. However, ultimately, Nasir Core and Harrell are both in the top five in rebounds this season. If the Chicago Triplets can outrebound Howard and limit second chances opportunities, I like their chances.
