NBA Same Game Parlay Picks

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Atlanta Hawks

These same Hawks smoked the Cavs 136-119 just one month ago, and Cleveland may be without C Jarrett Allen for this one (see here for the complete injury report). Atlanta has hovered within a game of .500 for two months, and we like them to keep this unusual streak alive tonight on their home floor.

Young tallied 43 Points+Assists in their previous meeting and 35 in their first matchup (on 1-7 shooting from 3). Trae has also been excellent on his home court this season, averaging an exemplary 28 Points and 10.2 Assists. The Cavs have been a favorable matchup for opposing Guards in the month of March, and we think it’s fair to expect a big game from Trae tonight.

It’s essentially the same argument as for Trae: Garland tallied a combined 35 Points + Assists in both of the two teams’ previous matchups, and we don’t foresee change tonight. Garland has steamed down a bit in the month of March, but he still comfortably averages this number on the season, and the matchup with the Hawks is as favorable as it gets.

NBA Game Picks

Miami Heat vs. Toronto Raptors

The Miami Heat are looking to earn the six-seed in the East. They’ll have to get by the Brooklyn Nets in the standings.

Miami hasn’t been consistent on the offensive end this season. The Heat have scored just 113 points per 100 possessions while shooting an effective field goal percentage of 52.8%. But the Raptors allow teams to shoot a 56.9% effective field goal percentage. Therefore, Miami might get some better looks from the field tonight.

The Heat could turn the ball over at a high rate and won’t earn a ton of offensive rebounds. But Miami will find its way to the foul line to add a bunch of freebies.

On the other hand, the Raptors have been much better offensively. The team has turned the ball over just 12.2% of the time and has earned 30.4% of offensive rebounds. Toronto will be active on the glass, but the Heat still allow only 25.5% of offensive rebounds. Miami has limited foul shooting and has given up just 113.4 points per 100 possessions. The Heat are also known for forcing a high amount of turnovers. It’ll be harder against the Raptors, but Miami should at least limit the Raptors from earning a bunch of second chances.

Let’s back the Heat to take care of business.

Bet: Heat +3 (-110)

First Basket Scorer

Washington Wizards vs. Boston Celtics

The Celtics are one of the best teams in the NBA this season. They can do it on both sides of the court. Neither of these teams wins the first possession consistently. That means the Celtics are the most likely team to score first because they can defend and get a chance to shoot if they do not win the first possession.

Jayson Tatum is the best scorer in the NBA this season. He is the number one option for the Boston Celtic. That means he takes a high volume of shots. Tatum’s shooting volume and ability to create quality shots give him high betting value tonight.

Bet: Jayson Tatum (+480)

NHL Game Picks

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. New York Rangers

The Blue Jackets started their three-game road trip off on the wrong foot, suffering an 8-2 beatdown at the hands of the Canadiens on Saturday. That’s been the story of the year for Columbus as they’re tied with San Jose for the league’s lowest point total (53 points). They’ll attempt to get things back on track tonight against a Rangers team that’s won two straight games and six of their last seven. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET from Madison Square Garden in New York, NY.

With the way these teams are trending, it only makes sense to back the Rangers in this spot. They’ve been red-hot over the last two weeks, posting an 8-1-1 record over their last 10 games. New York has seen its offense come to life as they’re averaging 4.8 goals per game over the 10-game sample. As for the overall numbers, the Rangers are 13th offensively (3.3 GPG) and ninth on the power play (22.4%).

On the flip side, New York’s defense has held up very well this season, where they’re eighth in goals against (2.6 GAA). Considering Jaroslav Halak played in Saturday’s 4-3 win against the Panthers, we should get reigning Vezina Trophy winner Igor Shesterkin in the crease tonight. The Russian-born netminder is 33-12-7 this year with a 2.55 GAA and .914 SV%. The Rangers are leaps and bounds better in most major categories and I expect them to cover the puck line on home ice tonight.

Bet: New York Rangers -1.5 (-145)

NHL Player Prop Bet Picks

Jake Guentzel OVER 3.5 Shots On Goal (-105)

Every game for the Penguins is crucial because they only have a three-game lead for the final playoff spot with less than ten games to go.  It seems like the offense will have to be on top of their game because the team is dealing with a struggling blue line and inconsistencies at goaltender.

They should have the offensive advantage over the Red Wings, whose roster isn’t as deep. Pittsburgh has guys throughout the lineup that can make plays, but none better than Jake Guentzel. He’s been incredible, averaging 4.3 shots on goal with 11 points over his last ten games.
