Tyson Fury vs. Derek Chisora 3: Boxing Preview, Odds, Picks & Prediction (2022)
The heavyweight bout between Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora, which will take place this weekend at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, is slated to go 12 rounds. Still, few believe it will actually last that long. This will be the third time Fury and Chisora have faced off in the ring, with this one having extra significance since Fury is defending his WBC belt against his former foe.
Will the third time around be any different for the sizeable underdog Chisora? Let’s take a closer look.

Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) vs. Derek Chisora (33-12, 23 KOs)
It’s safe to say that many fans weren’t expecting to see this bout between Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora happen for a third time, especially at this point in both’s careers. There had been talking of a bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, but it never happened since there was not enough time to stage such a big event. Since Chisora has never been one to back down from a challenge, it is quite possible that this will be his last chance to capture a world championship at this point in his career.
The Gypsy King, who is fighting for the second time this year, will be the center of attention when these two step into the ring Saturday. When Fury defeated Dillian Whyte in the sixth round by technical knockout to successfully retain his WBC and The Ring titles in April, he displayed his continued dominance over the sport. After that victory, Fury announced his retirement, allowing Oleksandr Usyk to win The Ring after defeating Anthony Joshua.
For Chisora, three losses in his last four fights don’t inspire much confidence, with a split decision win in July his only win since 2019.
Bottom Line
In their prior two fights, Chisora has never appeared at ease or even competitive against Fury. Chisora’s title hopes were ended by their last bout, a complete rout, and he has only been put in this fight, truthfully, at the goodwill of Fury. Chisora is not too far removed from having received two lopsided beatings from Joseph Parker, and Fury is a level higher than Parker.
Beyond getting too technical, this battle can go as long as Fury wants it to. There may be a glimmer of respect shared between these two, but Fury isn’t about to be kind to Chisora as he knows what he needs to do for even bigger future paydays. Given all the factors working in Fury’s favor, it will take some miracles for Chisora to succeed, given how awful he has recently appeared.
While the odds on his side (-3000) have gotten out of hand, I would like Fury to finish this one inside the distance with relative ease.
