Tyson Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs) vs. Dillian Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs)

Following three legendary fights vs. Deontay Wilder (2-0-1) and a host of âout of ringâ antics, the âGypsy Kingâ has turned into one of the biggest draws in combat sports. So much so, Fury will pocket $32.8 million just for stepping in the ring Saturday, while his opponent Whyte will pocket just $8.2 million.
In what will be his first fight in the United Kingdom since a 2018 win over Francesco Pianeta, Fury is a massive favorite for a reason, as his latest win over Fury gave him his third KO/TKO in his past four fights. Currently the holder of not just the WBC belt but, The Ring, WBA (Super), IBF, IBO, and WBO heavyweight titles, Whyte will need to turn in one of the best performances of his career in order to get it done Saturday.
Not only will âThe Body Snatcherâ be at disadvantage in terms of fighting elite guys but from a size standpoint as well. While each fighterâs weight for fight time is still a relative unknown, Fury fought last at 277 lbs while Whyte fought last at 147 lbs.
In addition to the weight, Fury will also have a 5â³ height and 9â³ reach advantage over Whyte on Saturday night, giving him the ability to not just land heavier punches but jab at a distance making the task of defeating him even harder.
Bottom Line
While I think the odds of who wins this fight outright are about set where they will remain by the time fight time comes, I think there is still some value in Fury ending this one before the final bell. Not only does Fury have the advantage in size and punching power, but Whyteâs style does not set up well for him here.
Known for coming forward into the danger zone, itâs not a place you can afford to slip up against a one-hit killer such as Fury. I like âThe Gypsy Kingâ to end this one well before the judges can get involved.
