Will Zalatoris has never played at The Country Club at Brookline. It’s on the shorter side at over 7,200 yards and par 70, reverting to the old days of golf with smaller greens and brushing roughs surrounding the greens.

He’s been playing very well as of late as he finished sixth at the Masters and lost in playoff at the PGA Championship. In his past seven major championship appearances, Zalatoris has finished inside the top 10 six times. You have to love the run he’s on right now. He’s currently 40th on tour in good drives gained, ninth on tour over the past 24 rounds in greens regulation gained, and fourth in birdies gained.

His ball-smashing approach will not play well on this smaller course, and his 177th ranking on driving accuracy could leave him playing off the rough on quite a few holes. These are some very thick roughs, so getting caught too much in it will set him back.
Also, his below-average putting could lead to frustrations as these greens feature slops and tilts where the wrong approach could lead to some bad misses.
