UFC 283: Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno Betting Guide (2023)

For the first time in UFC history and in high-level competition under any banner, two men will face off against one another for the fourth time, and once again for the flyweight championship.

Deiveson Figueredo and Brando Moreno have faced off three times since December 2020, going 1-1-1 over that span. This battle is probably the last against each other, as the native of Brazil, Figueiredo will get to enjoy this encounter in his own backyard this time.

UFC 283 Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno Bets

How will both fighters’ fourth fight turn out? Let’s look more closely.

Betting Profile: Deiveson Figueiredo (21-2-1)

Last Five Fights (W-L-D-W-W)

As the 35-year-old has already traded the belt back and forth with Brandon Moreno twice, Figueredo hasn’t faced anybody else since November 2020. Until then, Figueredo had taken the title from Joseph Benavidez in February 2020 and successfully defended it twice before losing it to Moreno.

Figueredo has the advantage in striking going into this fight, with a 3x advantage in knockdowns landed and a 16% advantage in striking accurately. At 3.53 per minute, he does, however, take slightly more shots.

Betting Profile: Brandon Moreno (20-6-2)

Last Five Fights (W-L-W-D-W)

Unlike Figueredo, Moreno has actually engaged in combat against someone else since their rivalry began. In July, Moreno defeated Kai Kara-France after three rounds by a shot to the body TKO, securing his first title defense against a competitor other than Figueredo.

While Moreno does have a minor advantage in striking going into this battle, he has a clear advantage on the ground in terms of takedown averages and takedown accuracy. Additionally, he possesses a takedown defense that is more than 10% superior.

Bottom Line

Moreno was a man renowned for his endurance and toughness inside the octagon even before this rivalry. He has only fought in four five-round fights in his 13 UFC battles, giving him an average fight time of 2.98 rounds. Even if Figgy’s statistics aren’t quite there, these two have spent 137.5 minutes in an octagon together over the previous 25 months.

And while the 35-year-old Figgy could still definitely end about at any time (both versus Moreno), his last two fights have revealed his closing prowess may have somewhat diminished. Due to early signs of rust from Figgy, who hasn’t competed in almost a year to the day, I believe “The Assasin Baby” can win several early rounds as this one goes deep.
