UFC 283 Teixeira vs. Hill Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions (2023)

The UFC is bringing the action to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as it hosts two title fights. Glover Teixeira is taking on Jamahal Hill for the vacant light heavyweight belt, and Deiveson Figueiredo is taking on the challenger, Brandon Moreno, for the flyweight belt. The first is a stylistic matchup, and the second will be the fourth time these men enter the cage with each other. The card features lots of Brazilian fighters who want to put on a show for the fans. The early prelims start at 6 p.m. EST, the prelims at 8 p.m. EST on ESPN+, and the main card gets underway at 10 p.m. EST on PPV.

UFC 283 Teixeira vs. Hill: Best Parlay Bets

Leg 1: Thiago Moises money line (-365)

Melquizael Costa is stepping in on short notice to replace Guram Kutateladze, who pulled out of the fight a couple of weeks ago. Thiago Moises is a difficult opponent to fight on any given night and even tougher on short notice. Moises averages 1.11 takedowns landed per 15 minutes and has faced some of the best wrestlers in the division. He notched a takedown against Islam Makhachev before getting choked in the fourth round, which is a feat. Costa has 19 wins and five losses but has not faced the toughest competition yet. He has two fights in the LFA and one in the PFL, so this matchup is a big step up in competition. Moises should be able to get takedowns, control the fight on the ground, or even submit Costa.

Leg 2: Gregory Rodrigues money line (-305)

In another short-notice replacement bout, Gregory Rodrigues will take on Brunno Ferreira, who is replacing Brad Tavares. Ferreira’s last fight was a TKO stoppage on Dana White’s Contender Series, and he has not fought any high-level competition. His record is nine wins and zero losses, but this matchup will be difficult for him. Rodrigues will have a five-inch height advantage and a three-inch reach advantage in the octagon and is a more capable grappler. Both men are aggressive on the feet, but Rodrigues has a solid chin and has the advantage of having an entire camp. Rodrigues averages 2.39 takedowns per 15 minutes, so it would not be surprising to see this fight hit the mat and Rodrigues win by submission.

Leg 3: Glover Teixeira vs. Jamahal Hill does not go to decision (-650)

The night’s main event is a stylistic matchup between 43-year-old Glover Teixeira and 31-year-old Jamahal Hill. Teixeira is a fantastic wrestler who averages 2.20 takedowns per 15 minutes and has 10 submission victories in his career. Hill is a knockout artist with extreme power and speed for the 205 division. Hill’s only loss came at the hands of Paul Craig, who dislocated his arm before a stoppage by TKO. It should have been a submission loss, but the ref let it go because Hill never tapped to the submission. This fight will likely end in a Hill knockout or a Teixeira submission. On the feet, Teixeira has a high guard and is much slower than Hill. However, Hill’s takedown defense is not great. Hill got taken down six times in his last fight with Thiago Santos but still managed to get the victory because of his ability to get back to his feet. He will have trouble standing up with Glover in the top control, where he is a dominant finisher and is very heavy in that position. Hill is an accurate striker who adjusts well during the fight. Glover is very hittable due to his high guard, especially with uppercuts. If Hill can keep the fight standing, he will likely get the knockout finish. Either way, this fight is unlikely to see the judges.
