UFC 289 Nunes vs. Aldana Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions (2023)

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Leg 1: Blake Bilder Money Line (–245)

Blake Bilder is fighting Kyle Nelson in a Featherweight bout to open the prelims. Nelson is 1-4-1 since entering the UFC but always gives fans an entertaining fight. He is tough as nails and eats a shot to land a shot. Nelson averages 2.85 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 4.89 strikes per minute. He does have a three-inch height and reach advantage over Bilder, but it likely will not matter.

Bilder pushes the pace in his fights and applies heavy pressure. He lands 6.58 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 5.05 strikes per minute. The pressure from Bilder may be too much for Nelson, who is always looking to land a power shot. It is a close matchup on the mat, with Bilder likely having the strength advantage. This fight probably remains standing, with Bilder applying pressure on Nelson, making him uncomfortable.

Leg 2: Miranda Maverick Money Line (–285)

Miranda Maverick will take on Jasmine Jasudavicius in the women’s Flyweight division. Maverick fights out of the southpaw stance, lands 3.74 significant strikes per minute, and absorbs 2.53 strikes per minute. Jasudavicius fights in orthodox and lands 2.92 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 3.85 significant strikes per minute. Jasudavicius will hold a four-inch height advantage and a three-inch reach advantage over Maverick. Despite being longer than her opponents, she has proven that she still gets hit. Maverick is not the best striker in the division, but she is quick and can get inside to land shots.

The other part of this bout is the grappling. Both women average about 2.5 takedowns landed per 15 minutes. Either could get a takedown, but when Maverick winds up on top, it will be more dominant than Jasudavicius’ ground and pound. Maverick has heavy hands when she is on top. If she remains more active, which the stats suggest, she should come away with a victory.

Leg 3: Marc-Andre Barriault Money Line (-135)

Opening the PPV card, Marc-Andre Barriault will fight Eryk Anders in a middleweight bout. Both men are similar in size, with Barriault fighting in the orthodox and Anders in the southpaw stance. Barriault will also have the crowd behind him as the Canadian. The oddsmakers have deemed this fight is close and should be competitive. Barriault is the more active striker, while Anders is the more active grappler. Barriault lands 5.90 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 5.18 strikes per minute. Anders has a ratio of 3.39-4.22 significant strikes landed and absorbed per minute. Anders lands 1.59 takedowns per 15 minutes but does not have a dominant ground game. Barriault should be able to stuff Anders’ takedown attempts and do enough on the feet to get the nod from the judges.

Total Parlay Odds: +231
