UFC 327 Picks: Prochazka vs. Ulberg

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Betting Profile: Jiri Prochazka (32-5-1)

Last Five Fights: W-W-L-W-L

Jiri Prochazka has been a monster since coming into the UFC in 2020, making a quick rise to the top of the Light Heavyweight Division. He's 6-2 in the promotion, with both blemishes coming at the hands of Alex Pereira (KO-Elbows, KO-Kick).

The Czech brawler has since bounced back with a couple of knockout wins of his own, taking care of Jamahal Hill (KO-Punches) and Khalil Rountree (KO-Punches), more recently. The 33-year-old is now 32-5-1 in his professional career.

Stylistically, Prochazka is an aggressive, heavy-handed knockout artist with 28 professional knockout victories and a trio of submissions. He's averaging 5.69 significant strikes per minute and landing them at a 55% rate. Defensively, Prochazka is absorbing 5.60 strikes per minute, while fending off 68% of opposing takedown attempts.

Betting Profile: Carlos Ulberg (14-1-0)

Last Five Fights: W-W-W-W-W

Carlos Ulberg is putting together a fine fighting resume, and we're finally starting to see him step up and fight some of the bigger names in the Light Heavyweight Division. The New Zealander is putting his nine-fight winning streak on the line on Saturday, and his most recent victories came against Jan Blachowicz (U-DEC) and Dominick Reyes (KO-Punches).

The Reyes win in September 2025 was impressive, taking him only 4:27 worth of fight time to get the finish. Ulberg absorbed only five strikes in the bout, and it's the fifth time in his last eight fights where he has been struck five times or fewer.

Statistically, Ulberg is dishing out an elevated 6.54 significant strikes per minute. He's getting hit 4.04 times per minute, and his opponents have a 49% connection rate on their significant strike attempts.

Ulberg isn't too aggressive with his grappling, averaging 0.55 takedowns per 15 minutes. He's successful on 60% of his takedown attempts, while stuffing 85% of opposing takedown tries. The former kickboxer has eight knockout wins, four decision victories and one submission.

Prochazka vs. Ulberg Prediction

The sports betting market has this fight priced in the pick’em range, with former champion Jiri Prochazka being a minuscule -118 Moneyline favorite. Carlos Ulberg comes back at -102 to secure the Light Heavyweight strap in his first attempt at UFC gold.

I'm never rushing to the window to fade Prochazka. He’s becoming a legend in the fight game, and he always puts on entertaining fights.

With that said, I do not think he's the more technical fighter in this bout. Ulberg has precision, above-average power and he's pretty agile for the 205-pound weight class. He's also riding a nine-fight winning streak entering the bout.

This could be a tough matchup for Prochazka. He's absorbing an inflated 5.60 significant strikes per minute, and his opponents are landing their strikes at a 55% success rate. We've seen his chin fail him twice in his previous five fights.

For as much as I love the warrior mindset that the former champ brings to the table, I think his relentless, always-moving-forward style could be to his detriment against an accurate, high-volume opponent. At this price, I'm going to back Ulberg in Miami on Saturday night.

Bet: Carlos Ulberg Moneyline (-102)
