UFC Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) Odds, Preview & Betting Guide: Season 6, Week 2 (2022)

The UFC’s Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) is back for another season, as week one went off last week. Now in its sixth season, DWCS serves as a form of “tryouts” for potential UFC fighters, as it’s a showcase for up-and-comers to potentially walk away with a contract.

In week one, only one fighter (Joe Pyfer) walked away with a contract following his TKO victory over Ozzy Diaz in the second round. Who might do the same this week? Let’s take a closer look at a few fights I’m keyed in on.

Charlie Campbell vs. Chris Duncan

Another Longo-Weidman fighter in Charlie “Cannibal” Campbell will make the walk on Tuesday, as the famed Long Island gym continues to churn out high-level talent. Entering the octagon with a record of 6-1, Campbell has ended his last three fights via KO/TKO inside of two rounds, and I expect pressure early to do the same.

On the otherside here, Chris Duncan will be making his second stop at DWCS, losing last season in via KO/TKO to Vlacheslav Borschchev. Since then, he did pick up a decision win in February against Jonathan Carlos, a result that likely won’t be good enough here to earn him his contract.

In this fight, I like the more elite striker in Campbell to go to the body early and finish it before the final bell on his feet.

Pick: Chris Campbell (-150 via DraftKings)

Billy Goff vs. Shimon Smotritsky

Fight in DWCS last season, Shimon Smotritsky lost in the first round via submission to Mike Malott, a fight he redeemed himself for two months later in a TKO win in the Russian Cagefighting Championship. A decent striker, Smotritsky is better known for his grappling, despite holding just a 1-1 record in fights by way of submission.

As for his opponent, Billy Goff comes into this fight having won five straight, four of which have come via KO/TKO, including his last three which all ended inside of two rounds. He also has the edge when it comes to high-pressure fights, with all of his last three being title fights/defenses in the fighting promotion CES and Cage Titans.

In this fight, I like the more experienced Goff to pick apart his opponent and get the finish well inside the distance.

Pick: Billy Goff (-195 via DraftKings)
