UFC Dana White’s Contender Series: Season 6, Week 10 Odds, Picks & Predictions (9/27)

The sixth season of Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) ends on Tuesday night, seemingly just as quickly as it began. The card’s main event, Bo Nickal, who won earlier in the season but is still looking for a UFC contract, is arguably the most sure-fire future UFC fighter to ever compete in DWCS.

Let’s look at where the value is in our top UFC predictions as the opening bell at the Apex approaches with a number of excellent fights leading up to the main event.

UFC Dana White’s Contender Series: Season 6, Week 10 Odds, Picks & Predictions

Joao Elias (+160) vs. Rafael Estevam (-190)

In this matchup, two flyweights from Brazil—Joao Elias and Rafael Ramos Estevam—will square off in what promises to be a thrilling fight. Elias, who is one of the most experienced fighters this season, enters this match with a three-fight winning streak, raising his overall record to 17-3-1. Elias is currently considered the top flyweight in Brazil, according to Tapology, with those three victories mentioned all coming inside the distance.

Estevam enters this fight with a perfect record of 10-0, with three of his last five victories taking place inside the distance. However, he hasn’t fought since LFA 112 in July 2021, so it’s been a while since he was inside the cage.

I give Elias a slight advantage in this one because he is the more active and experienced fighter, combined with the ring rust of Estevam.

Pick: Joao Elias (+160 via DraftKings)

Vinicius Cenci (+190) vs. Sam Patterson (-225)

Sam Patterson and Vinicius Cenci will wrap up the lightweight division’s run on DWCS this season, capping off what has been a fantastic season for the weight class. For Patterson, he enters this fight on a nine-bout winning streak, with four of his last five victories coming inside the distance.

Cenci, his opponent, has won seven straight fights and hasn’t lost since his debut in 2016, so he too enters this fight on a roll. It’s also important to note that all eight of his professional fights have ended in knockouts or submissions.

While we’ve missed the best number in this case (opened +250), I concur with the Cenci stream and believe that the outcome is much more likely to be a coin toss on paper.

Pick: Vinicius Cenci (+190 via DraftKings)
