UFC Fight Night Dan Ige vs. Damon Jackson: Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions (2023)

Betting Profile: Dan Ige (15-6-0)

Last Five Fights (L-L-L-W-L)

Dan “50K” Ige joined the UFC in July 2017 and rattled off wins in six of his first seven fights before a 2020 loss to Calvin Kattar just as he was cracking the top 10 conversations. The Kattar loss started a slide for Ige he’s yet to stop, losing three of his next four as well including most recently to Movsar Elovev (June 2020, unanimous decision).

The 30-year-old will now likely be fighting for his life with the UFC, as he needs a win here desperately to stop the bleeding. In terms of metrics, Ige does hold the edge in striking, with 3.8 significant strikes landed per minute clip that’s nearly 50% higher than his opponent.

Betting Profile: Damon Jackson (22-4-1)

Last Five Fights (W-W-W-W-L)

In terms of momentum, Damon “Action” Jackson comes into Saturday on a much different trajectory. Since losing his sophomore UFC fight to Ilia Topuria in December 2020, Jackson has rattled off four straight wins to bring his UFC record to 5-1 entering this matchup.

With both KO/TKO and submission victories in his tenure thus far, Jackson has turned into a formidable fighter who that at 33 years old, has one final push to make a name for himself. In terms of the metrics, Jackson, a Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, has a large edge in grappling in both submission averages (7x), as well as takedown averages (2x).

His takedown accuracy is also just shy of 2x Ige in this one as well.

Bottom Line

While Jackson’s momentum is hard to bet against, I have to take a fighter in Ige whose back is absolutely against the wall. So far since this betting market opened, the market has largely agreed, seeing Ige swing from a +140 underdog all the way to a -135 favorite.

In a fight I expect to go all three rounds, I like for Ige to grind out a close decision win.

Best Bet: Dan Ige (-135 via DraftKings)
