UFC Fight Night: Michelle Waterson vs. Angela Hill Betting Guide (2020)

The UFC has successfully put on promotions since early May, well before the rest of American sports found their pandemic bearings. That said, the final matchups have constantly been fluid. When Michelle Waterson and Angela Hill step into the octagon Saturday night for UFC Vegas 10’s main event, it’ll be a long time coming.

This fight was originally scheduled for three weeks ago, but Waterson vs. Hill will finally serve as the main event for an exciting card.

Let’s take a closer look at the tale of the tape between two rising strawweight fighters. They’ll both look to make a splash with the fighting world’s eyes on them.

Pittsburgh-native Angela Hill has been busy this year, as this is her fourth fight of 2020. She has been trying to climb the ranks of a crowded strawweight division. The last time we saw her inside the octagon, she lost for the first time in four fights. The defeat came in a split decision to the sixth-ranked Claudia Gadelha.

A Muay Thai and Kickboxing specialist, the 5’3″ Hill has two TKO wins in her last four fights. That’s the kind of stoppage she’ll look to display in her first main event appearance.

Across from Hill, Michelle Waterson will step into the octagon. She is in desperate need of a victory to keep her eventual title hopes afloat. The last time we saw her, she lost her second-straight fight. It came at the hands of Carla Esparza, who is now the division’s seventh-ranked fighter.

As a black belt in American Freestyle Karate and a Purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Waterson is a veteran of the game. She’ll look to make one final run for a belt in the sport before calling it a career. She’s also a former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion, so she has the technique to get there. The only question is whether father time has caught up with her.

Like most women fighters in the sport, these two sport records peppered with fights that went to the judge’s scorecards, which includes eight of their last ten. At less than 1:3 odds, I think that betting on this fight to go the distance still offers a fair amount of value.

Pick: Will the fight go the distance? – YES (-260)
