UFC Fight Night: Sijara Eubanks vs. Karol Rosa Betting Guide (2020)

For the 10th weekend in ten weeks, the UFC brings its talents to ESPN and their family of networks. This time, we get UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Sakai. The UFC has been putting on COVID-friendly events since early May, and to this point, they have suffered zero major outbreaks.

While there certainly have been schedule changes and cancellations due to positive tests, the UFC has laid the blueprint for all of the American sports now attempting mid-pandemic seasons. And the fights have just been getting better and better.

Let’s take a closer look at the co-main event of what should be another great night of fights this Saturday at the UFC Apex.

Originally scheduled to fight Macy Chiasson, Sijara Eubanks will step into the octagon Saturday to face a relatively new UFC addition — opponent Karol Rosa. With a professional record of 5-4, Eubanks is 3-2 since her UFC debut back in 2018.

The last time we saw Eubanks fight, her fight ended in a unanimous decision — a loss to Sarah Moras. All five of her fights have ended in similarly unanimous decisions. A black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the 35-year-old Eubanks comes into this one 10 years the senior to her opponent. I expect her to take this ground in order to use the one tactical advantage she may have.

Rosa’s 13-3 record and 2-0 run in the UFC was enough to make her the slight favorite. When we last saw her fight in UFC 251, she pulled off a unanimous decision over Vanessa Melo.

But Rosa didn’t just win at UFC  251 — she dominated. She landed 177 strikes and two clean takedowns, so she comes into this one looking to continue her run up the women’s bantamweight division.

In this one, I’ll take the younger fighter in Rosa — her recent stretch of dominance should be enough to give her the edge against an aging Eubanks. Additionally, since opening around -120, Rosa has seen a flood of money come in on her. It isn’t the public betting on a women’s bantamweight fight to create that movement, especially that movement took place days out from the fight.

Pick: Karol Rosa -142
