UFC Fight Night: Uriah Hall vs. Anderson Silva Betting Guide (2020)

The biggest event of the year for the UFC has come and gone, as Khabib Nurmagomedov beat Justin Gaethje in the second round to not only retain his lightweight belt but, retire from the sport altogether.

While much will be made of Khabib being or not being the best pound for pound fighter of all time, another fighter that was once in those conversations will be entering the ring this weekend. Though he is no doubt past his prime, does Anderson “Spider” Silva have what it takes for a few more wins in the octagon?

Let’s take a closer look as Silva (+184) tangles with Uriah Hall (-220) as part of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night card:

When it comes to OG fans of the UFC, the name Anderson Silva brings to mind a highlight reel of KO’s and finishes that are synonymous with the company and even the sport itself. Making his debut with the UFC in 2006, Silva claimed the UFC Championship in his second fight and defended it successfully 12 times through 2012.

That doesn’t include the two light heavyweight wins that he picked up during that run.

Since losing the belt to Chris Weidman in 2013, and then unsuccessfully trying to get it back, Silva has been on a freefall. After what ended up being a No Contest decision against Nick Diaz, Silva has lost four of five, most recently to Jared Cannonier at UFC 237 last May.

Silva’s opponent on Saturday comes in the form of Uriah Hall, a veteran in his own right but one with one more run at a belt potentially in the cards. Winner of three of his last four, Hall is ranked #9 in the division, having last fought over a year ago defeating Antonio Carlos Junior by decision.

Bottom Line

For Silva, nothing has been the same since a brutal injury in his second fight snapped his tibia in one of the nastiest images the UFC has ever produced. As much as I would like to pick Silva to put on one last show for his legion of fans, I have to go with Hall who I truly do believe is on one final push for relevancy.

With five of his last six wins by KO/TKO, I’ll take a Hall in a bet I still see a ton of value in.

Pick: Uriah Hall by KO/TKO (+160)
