UFL Week 6 Picks & Predictions: Stallions vs. Brahmas (Sunday)

The Stallions versus the Brahmas is a rematch of last year’s lopsided UFL Championship Game, which was obviously won by Birmingham. The back-to-back-to-back spring champions beat the Brahmas 25-0. San Antonio hasn’t recovered from the crushing defeat. Yet, Birmingham hasn’t resembled the annual spring juggernauts they were in previous campaigns. The Stallions should handle their business and earn a victory at home this week, but will they cover a double-digit spread?

Birmingham Stallions vs. San Antonio Brahmas

The Brahmas began this season with four consecutive road contests, getting drilled in the first two and losing their third game. Through a winless first three games, the Brahmas were beaten 33-9, 26-9, and 26-23. They snapped their three-game skid by handing the Defenders their only loss of the season through five weeks, beating them 24-18.

The Brahmas were unable to retain their momentum in Week 5. Instead, the Roughnecks beat the brakes off them, defeating them 27-3. It was San Antonio’s most pitiful offensive showing, and the 24-point loss matched their most lopsided loss of the year. Still, Payton Pardee is 1-1 as the club’s interim head coach after Wade Phillips took a leave of absence. In fairness, Pardee got his feet wet in a three-point defeat against the Panthers in Week 3 because Phillips wasn’t well enough to coach the contest. So, the Pardee-led Brahmas have lost by three, won by six, and lost by 24 points. It’s a rocky start and doesn’t inspire confidence that they’ll defeat the Stallions.

However, Birmingham is coming off a 24-20 loss to the previously winless Showboats. Case Cookus made his first start in 2025 and suffered a defeat. Sadly for the Stallions, it doesn’t appear Matt Corral will reprise his starting gig this week, and Week 1 and Week 2 starter Alex McGough is on the injured list. According to Pro Football Focus, Cookus was only 15-for-33 for 145 yards (4.4 per attempt), two passing touchdowns, one big-time throw, one interception, and three turnover-worthy plays in Week 5. He also took three sacks.

The Brahmas are flawed. They’ve been outscored by 38 points on the road this year. They’ve also lost three of five games by more than 10 points in 2025. However, the Stallions have won zero games by 10-plus points and lost their only game started by Cookus to a previously winless team. Entering Week 5, Memphis had 50 points for and 88 points against before scoring 24 against Birmingham. Finally, wins by 10 points or more haven’t been the norm in the UFL this year. Since three of four games were decided by 10-plus points in Week 1, only five of 16 had a 10-plus point discrepancy. So, 40% of games have been decided by 10-plus points this year, but only 31.3% featured a 10-plus points final outcome in Week 2 through Week 5. It’s not a comfortable feeling to take the 10 points with a hapless club, but Birmingham’s inability to squash teams this year, combined with the league-wide scoring outcomes, indicate that San Antonio +10 points is the best bet.

Pick: Brahmas +10 (-110)
