U.S. Open 2022: Justin Thomas Betting Odds, Preview, & Prediction

As things wrap up north of the border this weekend at the RBC Canadian Open, things are heating up in the betting markets for the 2022 U.S. Open. As always, golf’s majors attract tons of attention from not just golf die-hards, but the betting public as well.

For this year’s third major, we’ll head to The Country Club in Brookline, Mass., as the event’s 122nd edition is scheduled to tee off early Thursday morning. While the golfers currently playing on the LIV Tour’s status for this week is still up in the air, plenty of elite talent is guaranteed to tee off in Brookline.

Let’s take a closer look at one such elite-level player and fan favorite: Justin Thomas.

Justin Thomas U.S. Open History

Competing in his first U.S. Open in 2014 at just 21 years old (missed cut), JT has made five of six cuts, including four top 25 finishes. Last year at Torrey Pines, he found himself in contention come the weekend after a Friday 69 but struggled to close things out, shooting a Sunday 73 to finish T19.

Justin Thomas Recent Form*

Before a missed cut at the Charles Schwab Challenge Memorial Day Weekend, JT picked up his second career major with a win at the PGA Championship following three of four days shooting 67. Over his past 10 outings, he has made the cut in nine and finished T10 or better in six of those events.

Currently top 20 in the world in SG: Off-the Tee, Approach, Around the Green, Tee-to-Green, and Total, JT is slowly becoming the player he’s long been on the precipice of: A Major hunter.

In addition to his recent stellar form, JT has also been exceptionally sharp when it comes to the majors over the past two years. Dating back to the start of the 2021 major season (The Masters), JT has four top 10 finishes in six outings, crystallized by his win at the PGA Championship last month.

If he can get off to a hot start, look for him to be in contention to bring it home Sunday, with all the tools to do just that.
