Saturday's Best WNBA Player Props & Picks: Valkyries vs. Aces
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Chelsea Gray Over 16.5 Points + Rebounds (-128)
The veteran out of Duke may have to once again assume a much more prominent offensive role, due to the possibility of A'ja Wilson missing her second straight contest with a sprained wrist. As of this morning, Wilson is still considered questionable. Make sure to check the BettingPros app a little later in the day for all your up-to-date information.
Gray has cleared 16.5 points and rebounds in the last two games played after failing to do so in the previous three consecutive contests. Normally known for passing, the Las Vegas guard is averaging 12.0 points and seven rebounds in the last two games. Gray has also recorded 17 points and rebounds in five out of the last eight games.
The guard for the Aces is connecting on 48,5 of attempts from the field, and 40% from beyond in the last eight games. With the possibility of extended usage if Wilson does, in fact, miss this contest, this selection makes even more sense. Despite the somewhat heavy juice, we feel confident Grey can finish with at least 17 points and rebounds.
Veronica Burton 2+ Three-Pointers (+130)
We close out our selections with a three-point total that comes across a bit too low considering recent performances. Veronica Burton has made 11 shots from beyond the arc over the last four games and has hit eight of the last 10 attempts. Burton has hoisted up at least four three-pointers in seven of the last nine games, while connecting at a 41% clip.
The Golden State guard has made two or more three-pointers in the previous four of seven contests. Burton has knocked down 14 baskets from beyond the arc over that span, while shooting over 48%. The guard for the Valkyries is going through a serious hot streak from distance, and has played 31 minutes or more in two of the last three games, compared to a season average of 28.6.
Las Vegas is one of the tougher teams regarding defending the three-pointer. The Aces are only allowing 5.8 baskets from beyond the arc over the last five games. Having said that, Burton is showing an elite shooting touch as of late and is seeing a few more minutes on the floor. The good vibes will most certainly be surrounding the third-year guard who turns 25 today, and if that includes two baskets from beyond the perimeter for plus action, then so be it!
Enjoy the games tonight, and good luck with your picks!
