New York Liberty at Indiana Fever First Basket Picks
Indiana has recorded the first basket in six of nine games, including four of their five home games. Unlike several teams where one or two players are often involved, Indiana has seen five different players make the first basket. Natasha Howard is the only one to make two. Caitlin Clark has not made the first basket in a game, but has made the first for the team twice.
New York has made the first basket in a game six times, including their May 24 game vs. Indiana (Jonquel Jones). The only player to make more than one is Leonie Fiebich. However, when it comes to the team's first basket, Sabrina Ionescu and Sami Whitcomb have done so twice.
I'm going with Clark here because it has been obvious how much the team has missed her over the last couple of weeks. So, like Bueckers in her return, I expect big things from Clark in this game, including making the first basket for the first time this season.
