WNBA Championship Odds
The following table contains the odds for each team to win the 2025 WNBA Championship.
| Team | Odds |
| New York Liberty | +230 |
| Las Vegas Aces | +350 |
| Indiana Fever | +350 |
| Minnesota Lynx | +360 |
| Phoenix Mercury | +1200 |
| Atlanta Dream | +4500 |
| Los Angeles Sparks | +6000 |
| Seattle Storm | +6000 |
| Chicago Sky | +9000 |
| Washington Mystics | +10000 |
| Dallas Wings | +10000 |
| Connecticut Sun | +13000 |
| Golden Stake Valkyries | +20000 |
As could be expected, the defending champs opened as the betting favorite to win it this season and will likely enter the season as such. Right behind them are the Las Vegas Aces, who gave their offense a serious boost with the acquisition of Jewell Loyd in the offseason. Caitlin Clark's incredible popularity will make the Indiana Fever a betting favorite.
If new head coach Stephanie White can keep the offense performing at a high level and get the team to play at least average defense, the Fever could make a serious run in the playoffs.
Minnesota won’t surprise anyone this season, but with the bulk of their roster back, the Lynx should be in the championship mix by the end of the season. But what will be interesting to see is who steps up and becomes an unexpected contender. Could it be the rebuilt Phoenix Mercury? What about a healthy L.A. Sparks team or maybe the Chicago Sky? Only time will tell.
WNBA Championship Picks
Favorite: Indiana Fever (+350)
I don't feel like the Aces addressed their defensive issues by adding Loyd. If anything, that move tells me they will try harder just to outscore people. New York will be tough, but I feel like Indiana will play better defense this year without taking a step back on offense.
If they can do that, they could win the WNBA Championship this season.
Dark Horse: Phoenix Mercury (+1200)
I love the addition of Alyssa Thomas and Satou Sabally to this roster. If they improve the starting lineup in the way I think they can, the Mercury could surprise quite a few people this season.
Longshots: Chicago Sky (+9000) | Los Angeles Sparks (+6000)
I am a big fan of the moves both teams made to fortify and improve their rosters in the offseason and via the draft. If they can stay healthy and gel sooner rather than later, either team could make some noise this year. I'm especially eager to see Angel Reese and Hailey Van Lith play together.
WNBA Coach of the Year Odds
It wasn’t hard to predict who the Coach of the Year would be last season. Expectations were low for Cheryl Reeve's Minnesota Lynx last season, but they ended up being the No. 2 seed in the postseason and runner-up to the New York Liberty.
When predicting who the Coach of the Year will be this season, we know we need to look for two things: (1) room for improvement and (2) low expectations. Now, those are not hard and fast rules. If Stephanie White gets the Fever into the finals, she'll probably win.
For a starting point, I'm looking at the new head coaches:
- Golden State Valkyries - Natalie Nakase (+2000)
- Los Angeles Sparks - Lynne Roberts (+1000)
- Chicago Sky - Tyler Marsh (+2000)
- Atlanta Dreams - Karl Smesko (+2000)
- Dallas Wings - Chris Koclanes (+2000)
- Washington Mystics - Sydney Johnson (+5000)
- Indiana Fever - Stephanie White (+125)
WNBA Coach of the Year Picks
Favorite: Stephanie White (+125)
I'm going with Stephanie White here for two reasons: (1) she did a tremendous job with the Connecticut Sun, who should have tried much harder than they did to retain her and (2) coverage is biased in favor of Caitlin Clark and the Fever. If White can keep the offense clicking and get the team to play decent defense, the Fever could be the No. 2 or No. 3 seed in the postseason. That may be enough for voters to give White the nod.
Dark Horse: Lynne Roberts (+1000) | Nate Tibbetts (+1000) | Tyler Marsh (+2000)
I am a big fan of the talent on these rosters and the additions they made in the offseason. If the head coach can get the team on the same page, playing well and winning games, that head coach will be in the conversation for Coach of the Year.
Longshots: Chris Koclanes (+2000) | Natalie Nakase (+2000)
It may be the easiest to make a case for Natalie Nakase. If she can guide an expansion team to the playoffs, she will be at the forefront of the conversation. Chris Koclanes will get some attention because of Paige Bueckers, but I'm not sure the talent is there for the team to make the kind of improvement it needs to make over last season for him to garner Coach of the Year attention.
