Dallas Wings (-205) at Connecticut Sun (+164) | O/U 164.5 (-106/-114)
The Wings (2-11) and Sun (2-10) meet at Mohegan Sun Arena, and that means one thing: Paige Bueckers is back in the state of Connecticut.
There haven’t been a lot of bright spots for the Wings, but Bueckers is obviously one of them. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft will be making her second-ever appearance in the Nutmeg State as a professional.
Dallas topped Connecticut 109-87 on May 27, easily covering 4.5-point favorites, as the Over (163.5) also comfortably connected. Bueckers went for 21 points on an efficient 8-of-10 shooting, while posting seven assists, five rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot with just one turnover. Arike Ogunbowale also added 19 points with six steals, while dropping in three triples in the road victory. It is the only road win for Dallas to date in seven tries. DiJonai Carrington had 16 points in her first game back in Connecticut since an offseason trade landed her in Big D. She went for 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting.
Connecticut pushed the reset button this past offseason, and it has been a train wreck so far. Tina Charles did a good job in the first meeting, posting a game-high 27 points, but she is coming off her worst game of the season Wednesday, when she managed just two points on 1-of-5 shooting.
The Sun enter off back-to-back covers, and they’re fabulous as a double-digit underdog. Here, they’re a single-digit ‘dog to Dallas, and they’re 0-4 against the spread (ATS) this season when an underdog by single digits. Let’s back Dallas to get the job done, and we’ll go high on the total since the Wings hit triple digits in the first meeting, while scoring 80-plus points in each of the past three outings.
Picks: Wings -4.5 (-106) & Over 164.5 Total Points (-106)
Seattle Storm (-130) at Las Vegas Aces (+106) | O/U 160.5 (-110/-110)
The Storm (7-5) and the Aces (5-6) tangle at Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, and it’s been a surprisingly trying season for the home side. The Aces are below .500 by a game, and it hasn’t helped that their superstar A’ja Wilson has been in the concussion protocol.
The good news for the Aces is that Wilson has been upgraded to questionable for Friday’s game. The defending WNBA MVP has missed three straight games since taking a shot from former teammate Dearica Hamby in the third quarter of a game against the Los Angeles Sparks on June 11. The Aces have won just one of those three missed games, while also finishing that game against the Sparks with a loss. Las Vegas is 0-5 ATS in the past five games, too. Ironically, its last cover was as a 3-point favorite on the road in Seattle on June 1.
Vegas topped the Storm, 75-70, at Climate Pledge Arena with Wilson, covering a 3-point spread as the Under (161) cashed. It also lost 102-82 in Seattle as a 5-point favorite on May 25 while the Over (158) hit, so there isn’t much to glean from the first two meetings.
If Wilson is out, obviously things are much worse for Las Vegas. However, even if she can play, the Aces are in the throes of a major skid, going 0-5 ATS in the past five games, while posting a 2-7 ATS mark in the past nine games, and 3-8 ATS in 11 games overall on the season.
For the Storm, they’ve won four of the past five games, while covering three of the past four. The Over is 3-1 in the past four games, too, while going 3-1 in the past four games on the road. We’ll take the Storm laying the little bit of points, hoping Wilson doesn’t play, only for the benefit of our wager, and we’ll take the Over, too.
Picks: Storm -2 (-106) & Over 160.5 Points (-110)
