    Atlanta Dream (-520) at Connecticut Sun (+370) | O/U 158 (-114/-106

The Dream (5-2) and the Sun (1-6) battle at Mohegan Sun Arena at 7:30 p.m. ET in the early window, as Atlanta looks to stay hot on the road.

The Dream strolls into the Nutmeg State with four consecutive wins and covers since an 81-76 setback at home against the Indiana Fever, when Caitlin Clark was still healthy and on the floor. In the four-game win and cover streak, the Dream pounded the Sun 79-55 down in Atlanta on May 25th as the under (158) comfortably came through.

In that victory at the Gateway Center, the Dream shot just 40.8% (29-of-71) from the field and 28.6% (10-of-35) from behind the arc. Still, four starters were able to get to double digits in points, led by Nia Coffey and Allisha Gray with 18 points apiece. Coffey was able to hit three triples in that win, while adding 11 rebounds for the double-double, with four assists in 26 minutes. Gray was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for May.

For the Sun, they’ve fallen off quicker than the relationship between Elon Musk and President Trump. Connecticut went from contender to one of the worst teams in the league overnight, and it has managed just a single win against the Clark-less Fever on May 30th. The Sun is just 2-5 against the spread (ATS) this season, too, and 0-3 ATS as a single-digit underdog. However, they’re 2-2 ATS as an underdog of 10+ points, including the outright win in Indiana.

The under has cashed in four of the past six games for Connecticut, and the main reason is a lack of offense. After trading away DeWanna Bonner, DiJonai Carrington, etc., it’s no surprise the Sun have struggled to cobble together an offense. Connecticut is dead last in scoring with 71 points per game (PPG), and ranks 12th in both field-goal percentage (39.6%) and three-pointer percentage (29.7%). Defensively, Connecticut is terrible, too, so it’s a perfect recipe to be one of the worst teams in the league.

In the loss in Atlanta, Marina Mabrey was able to post a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, but she misfired on 10 of her 14 field-goal attempts. Tina Charles had 11 points, but she was just 5-of-20 from the field, and the Sun didn’t even have to contend with Brittney Griner in that game due to a knee injury.

Based on the way Atlanta is playing, as opposed to Connecticut, it’s hard not to like the Dream. But, laying double digits on the road is always risky business. Let’s trust the Sun at home, catching more than 10 points. But, since Connecticut struggles so much offensively, let’s go low on the total.

    Picks: Sun +10.5 (-210) & Under 158 Total Points (-106)

    Los Angeles Sparks (-144) at Dallas Wings (+118) | O/U 173.5 (-110/-110

The Sparks (2-6) and Wings (1-7) are both struggling to find consistency, so facing each other gives both organizations a chance at a much-needed win. Looking at the records, this might not be a highly anticipated game, but it is interesting.

Los Angeles has dropped three straight games since a 91-78 win over the visiting Chicago Sky on May 25th, and the Sparks have failed to cover the past three games, too. The over is 3-0-1 in the past four games.

Like the Sparks, the Wings have dropped three in a row, although Dallas did cover as a 10-point underdog at Seattle in an 83-77 loss as the under (166) cashed. That under snapped a three-game run for the Wings.

For Dallas, the big news is that rookie Paige Bueckers is nursing a concussion after colliding with Chicago’s Courtney Vandersloot on May 29th in Chicago. She was forced to miss a second straight game on Wednesday in Seattle. She has returned to practice, so Bueckers is a question mark for Friday’s game.

Whether or not Bueckers can suit up doesn’t matter. The Sparks are deeper, and worth a look, laying the little bit of points. Also, based on the fact that neither of these teams can stop anybody, we’ll go high on the total.

    Picks: Sparks -2 (-114) & Over 173.5 Points (-110)
