The 2025 Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) regular season started Friday and continues tonight as the Seattle Storm travel to Dallas to take on the Wings. I'll be coming at you twice a week - Saturdays and Mondays - to give you my best WNBA bets and hopefully provide some winners.

Seattle Storm vs. Dallas Wings
We only have one game today, which means we can dive into it a bit more. Seattle sits around a 3-point road favorite with the total over 163.5, depending on which sportsbook you look at. Each team is coming off some disappointing season openers, Dallas at the hands of the Minnesota Lynx on Friday and Seattle getting pummeled Saturday on the road by the Phoenix Mercury.
Both teams are also coming off disappointing seasons. Seattle got swept by Vegas and Dallas finished 9-31. The good news for the Wings was that their season was so bad that they won the NBA Draft lottery and selected Paige Bueckers with the first overall pick. She tallied 10 points in her debut against the Lynx. The Storm drafted second and took Dominique Malonga from France to bolster their frontcourt.
But let's focus on this matchup. Last year, Seattle shot 29% from deep a year ago, a bottom-four mark among any WNBA team in the last 10 years. The Storm's defense kept them afloat, ranking fourth-best in the league. Now, with their leading scorer Jewell Loyd departing, it's hard to trust this offense. In their season opener, Seattle only managed 59 points, and maybe it's because they were on the road or they were just shaking off the rust, but that's concerning.
Dallas, on the other hand, wasn't exactly the best defensive squad a year ago, and that's putting it lightly. They ranked dead last with 111.7 points allowed per 100 possessions. With Paige Buckets in the fold and All-Defensive first team player DiJonai Carrington added to the squad, the only direction for Dallas is up.
But this line is still priced considering the Wings’ defensive metrics a year ago. I don't expect Seattle to fail getting to 60 points again, but they still clearly have a lot to figure out. Fading offense and trusting defense make me want to bet Dallas' Moneyline, but officially, I’m going with the under in this matchup.
