Dallas Wings at Connecticut Sun WNBA Picks

It's been a slow start out of the gate for the new look Wings. While Dallas likely has a way to go before being legitimate Playoff contenders, the slow start has not been helped by a brutal schedule. Dallas has played two games against the second-rated ORtg team and one against the fourth-rated. On the flip side, they've rounded out that schedule with the second-rated DRtg team. All of this to say they've had a tough path.

Connecticut is also winless on the season and have had a terrible time taking care of the ball. They have one of the highest turnover rates in the league and have been a poor shooting team when they don't turn it over.

I like the Wings to bounce back in this battle of the winless teams. They've shown signs of life and are starting to show some poise. Despite being led by a rookie in the backcourt, they have the second-best turnover rate in the league at 12.7%. They should be able to take care of business against a Connecticut team that will struggle all season.

Pick: Wings -4 (-110)

Golden State Valkyries at New York Liberty WNBA Picks

After a rough go in the franchise's inaugural game, the Valkyries have rallied off back-to-back wins. They'll now travel to New York to take on the reigning champion Liberty. Despite the wins, the Valkyries have continued to struggle shooting from three-point territory. They're just 25% on the season despite a respectable performance on Friday night.

The Liberty have picked up right where they left off last season. They blew out both the Aces and Sky while holding off a voracious attack from the Fever in a back-and-forth battle on Saturday. The Fever were able to stay close due to an astonishing 56 points in the paint. This was a far cry from the 27.0 PPG they allowed in the paint in the first two games.

The Valkyries have not shown an ability to really attack this New York team from deep or at the rim, where they only average 26.7 PPG. I expect the Liberty to bounce back in a big way on Tuesday after narrowly escaping over the weekend.

Pick: Liberty -17 (-110)

Atlanta Dream at Los Angeles Sparks WNBA Picks

Kelsey Plum's addition to the Los Angeles roster has been a bright spot so far. She leads the Sparks in PPG with 24.8 and APG with 5.6. This has helped secure a top-five ORtg for Los Angeles through their first five games of the season.

Atlanta has gotten off to a strong start themselves and it has been led by an explosive offense. They've done a great job of taking care of the ball with a 13.8% turnover rate and have the second highest OReb rate at 29.5%. They give themselves plenty of chances to score, even though they're an average shooting team.

One key here is that the Sparks' offense has relied heavily on getting to the free throw line. Their free throw rate is second in the league, and they shoot 76.7% when they get there. However, the Dream are one of the best teams in the league at keeping opponents off the line. If the Sparks aren't getting to the line, they won't have the firepower to keep up with a team like Atlanta that doesn't give up many possessions.

Pick: Dream +1.5 (-112)
