Tuesday's Best WNBA Picks & Bets

Indiana Fever at Atlanta Dream WNBA Picks & Bets

The big headline here is the availability of Caitlin Clark. She'll be out yet again as she creeps closer to a return. Without Clark, the Fever started off slow but have picked it up with back-to-back wins.

Despite the 4-4 record to start the season, the Fever have a +10.3 NRtg, good enough for third best in the league, behind only the Lynx and Liberty. While it's no surprise that Indiana boasts the fourth ranked ORtg, they've actually been most impressive on the defensive end where they rank only behind the Liberty in DRtg.

The Fever have predicated this defense around forcing turnovers and allowing their opponents to shoot a low percentage from the floor. The 54.2% shooting they allow at the rim is 10% below the league average and the best mark in the WNBA. These numbers are all impressive, but this plays right into the Dream's offensive style.

Atlanta is one of the worst teams shooting at the rim, but they're a strong offensive rebounding team with a 28.6% rate, and they take care of the ball with a top three turnover rate. In the Dream's win over Indiana last month, they out rebounded the Fever 37-32 and committed only 11 turnovers, winning despite getting outshot.

Even without Clark returning to the court, this number is inflated. I'll back the home favorite to cover in what is a very good matchup for their offense.

Pick: Dream -4.5 (-110)

Chicago Sky at New York Liberty WNBA Picks & Bets

The Liberty continue to run through the WNBA in their title defense. Standing in their way Tuesday is the Sky, who have had a rough start to the season. They're 2-5 SU and 3-4 ATS. Both wins and two of the covers, came against the league's worst record, Dallas.

Chicago's offense has been nothing short of atrocious. They do rebound the ball well on the offensive side with the top OReb rate in the league, but this is predominantly a product of having the second worst two-point FG% at 44.9%. They also boast the worst turnover rate and the second least FTM per FGA.

Unfortunately for Chicago, things have turned from bad to worse. They'll be without Courtney Vandersloot, the team leader with 5.6 APG. They'll also lose her 10.6 PPG. Vandersloot led the Sky in scoring in their 25 point loss to the Liberty last month. With her no longer in the lineup, you can expect to see more of the 22 turnover performance the Sky had in that game.

The Liberty have been a juggernaut all year, blowing out nearly every team they've played. The Sky already couldn't really compete at their level and with the injuries, that feat should be even more difficult. This is a large number, but the Liberty should still cover.

Pick: Liberty -17 (-110)
