Aces vs. Storm WNBA Picks & Bets
Seattle Storm Moneyline (+126)
We'd be lying if we didn't state there is something a tad peculiar about this line given the previous matchup between the Storm and Aces. Not only that, but Seattle is hosting this contest. They only recently suffered their first home loss against the Dream on Friday. The Last time these two teams matched up in Seattle earlier this season, the result was a 20-point thrashing for the Storm.
Las Vegas is currently 3-2 on the season, with only one road win against a Connecticut team that just won their first game on Friday. The Aces have not proven to be a strong road team to date, and Seattle is averaging 17 more points at home compared to when playing on the road.
The Aces allow over eight more points as the away team, while home opponents connect on over 4% more of their field goals when playing Las Vegas. When on the road, the Aces take a 15% hit in terms of percentage of points scored off turnovers, while only shooting 38.6% from the field.
If the Aces are unable to score off forced turnovers, shoot under 40% from the field as a team and allow the Storm to make nearly an extra 5% of their attempts, this is going to be another tough day for Las Vegas in Seattle. We will side with the plus action and back the Storm to win this contest.
Skylar Diggins Over 23.5 Points + Assists (-118)
Skylar Diggins is performing at a mid-season comfort level over the first six games of the season for Seattle. The six-time All-Star is averaging a stout 19 points and 6.8 dimes, while connecting on 47.4% of attempts from the field. She is also shooting a powerful 43.8% from beyond the arc.
Digginss has scored at least 20+ points in four out of six games this season, and has finished with eight or more assists in three of those contests. The Aces were able to contain the scoring of the veteran out of Notre Dame in their first matchup earlier this season. However, Diggins dished out eight assists in only 29 minutes due to the large disparity in score going into the fourth quarter. This should be a closer matchup, which would allow more opportunities to score.
Diggins has accumulated a combination of 24 points and assists in three out of six contests this season, and is averaging three more assists when playing at home. The Seattle guard is recording 18 points and 8.3 dimes per game when on the Storm's home court.
