Mercury vs. Sparks WNBA Picks & Bets
The Sparks continue to look for some consistency through the first seven games of the season. Los Angeles has shown the team is highly capable of scoring in bunches at times, yet has fallen flat in more contests than not. In the case of Phoenix, the Mercury can light up the scoreboard when playing at home. However, when on the road, the scoring is much less prevalent.
Phoenix is averaging over 10 fewer points when playing on the road compared to being at home. The Mercury takes seven fewer shots from beyond the arc on the road, while attempting nine fewer free throws. The Sparks are putting up 3.7 fewer points when at home, as the team drops 2% in regards to field-goal percentage.
Los Angeles and Phoenix combine for 150.3 points when the Mercury are on the road, and the Sparks are on their home floor. Both teams drop in field-goal percentage in these situations, while Los Angeles has only exceeded 80+ points in two out of four home games.
With Alyssa Thomas already ruled out for this contest, things get even more troublesome for the Mercury offensively. The 160-point total is too high for this contest.
