WNBA Picks & Predictions: Tempo vs. Valkyries (Tuesday)

Toronto Tempo (+550) at Golden State Valkyries (-800) | O/U 169.5 (-110/-110)
The Tempo (10-19) meet the Valkyries (20-9) in the standalone game of the evening, although there is no national television opportunity.
The Tempo just came into the league this season, along with the Portland Fire. The Valkyries just came into the league in 2025, and they’re already one of the best teams in the WNBA, ranking No. 3 in the overall standings behind just the Minnesota Lynx and Las Vegas Aces.
Toronto has lost both meetings with Golden State this season by an average of 12.5 points per game (PPG), with the Valkyries going 2-0 against the spread (ATS) with the Over-Under splitting in each of the outings. The Valkyries posted a 96-79 win in the front end of the back-to-back set, cashing as a 14.5-point favorite while the Over (164.5) hit.
We’ll dive more into Sunday’s result, a 17-point win. The Valkyries hit 49% (33-of-67) from the field, while going 48% (14-of-29) from behind the 3-point line. The Valkyries were impressive from the free-throw line, too, going 89% (16-of-18). Veronica Burton was good for 17 points, including three triples with a pair of steals. Gabby Williams added 15 points, too. Defensively, Kiah Stokes was tremendous, going for eight points with 11 rebounds and five blocks while adding a steal.
For the Tempo, Nyara Sabally posted 19 points with three triples, eight rebounds, and an assist across 25 minutes. Laura Juskaite ended up with 15 points with a 5-of-7 shooting night, while adding four boards. Julie Allemand was very good with 11 points, too, including three 3-pointers and a team-high six assists.
Toronto is really struggling lately, dropping six in a row, while going just 1-10 straight up (SU) in the past 11 outings. Toronto is 1-5 against the spread (ATS) in the past six games, while posting a 2-9 ATS mark in the previous 11 outings. The Over is 4-1 in the past five games, and 5-2 across the previous eight outings since July 10, too.
For Golden State, it snapped a mild two-game losing streak, but it is still a very impressive 10-2 across the past 12 outings. And, while it is 1-3 ATS in the past four games, it is still 9-3 ATS in the past 12 contests, with the Over going 3-0.
We’ll definitely be playing the Over, as Golden State nearly went for triple digits in the front end of the set. We’ll also take Golden State to keep getting the job done against the number. Toronto just isn’t offering a lot of resistance lately, and the Valkyries are one of the best teams in The W right now.
