Tuesday’s Best WNBA Picks & Predictions

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Portland Fire (-105) at Connecticut Sun (-115) | O/U 167.5 (-110/-110)

The Fire (10-13) meet the Sun (5-18) at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Tip-off is at 11:00 a.m. ET. That’s 8:00 a.m. PT for the Fire, so that’s something to watch very, very closely.

Portland will be without Sania Feagin (knee), while Connecticut’s Brittney Griner (quadriceps) is listed as questionable, and Saniya Rivers (ankle) is out with an ankle injury. Aneesah Morrow is out as she continues to recondition for competition.

The Fire have won two in a row on the road, including a 102-92 victory in Atlanta on Saturday as a 12.5-point underdog, cashing at +525 on the Moneyline, as the over (174.5) hit. Portland has covered four in a row, going 7-2 against the spread (ATS) in the past nine games, while the over is 6-2 across the previous eight outings.

Portland has topped Connecticut in each of the previous two meetings, both at the Moda Center. The Fire won 71-61 as a 7.5-point favorite on May 27th, as the under (166.5) cashed. They also won 83-82 as a 3.5-point favorite in the first meeting on May 18th, as the under (174.5) connected.

The Sun has dropped three of the past four games, but they’re 5-1 ATS in the past six games, while the under is 4-2 in the span. We’re going to take Connecticut to get the outright victory by at least a bucket, as it’s an awfully early tip time for Portland.

Based on the season series, let’s go low on the total, especially since Portland is playing at 8:00 a.m. PT on the internal clock. The Fire should get off to a sluggish start.

Picks: Sun -1.5 (-102) & Under 167.5 Points (-110)

Washington Mystics (-125) at Toronto Tempo (+105) | O/U 172.5 (-112/-108)

The Mystics (11-10) and Tempo (10-13) meet at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Washington is 6-5 on the road, while Toronto has managed a 6-7 mark at home.

These teams have met twice already this season, with Washington winning both meetings and going 1-1 ATS. The underdog has covered in each of the two meetings, while the over/under has split in both games.

Washington edged Seattle 84-79 at home on Sunday as 6.5-point favorites, while the over (162.5) cashed. The Mystics have won three of the past four games, but they’re just 1-5 ATS in the previous six outings. The under is 5-2 in the past seven contests, too.

Toronto snuck by the New York Liberty 93-91 as a 7.5-point underdog. Toronto is just 1-4 ATS in the past five games, while the over has cashed in two straight after the under hit in three straight from June 27th to July 8th.

The first two meetings were close, but the Mystics have managed to get the job done. We’ll keep hitting Washington until Toronto can get over the hump. The over is the play on the total.

Picks: Mystics -1.5 (-112) & Over 172.5 Points (-112)
