Tuesday’s Best WNBA Picks & Predictions

Connecticut Sun (+198) at Washington Mystics (-247) | O/U 157.5 (-115/-105)
The Sun (7-20) and the Mystics (14-12) meet at CareFirst Arena in Washington D.C. at 7:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday night. This is the third meeting of the season, with these teams splitting the first two installments in Connecticut.
Connecticut won a low-scoring 68-57 game on June 26 at Mohegan Sun Arena outright as a 4.5-point underdog while the Under (164.5) was never threatened.
The Sun are coming off an embarrassing 123-88 loss at Indiana last time out on Wednesday prior to the All-Star Break. Connecticut has dropped two of the past four games after some encouraging play late in June.
Against the number, the Sun are 2-2 against the spread (ATS) in the past four games, and a respectable 7-3 ATS in the past 10 outings. The Over is 3-1 in the past four games, and 5-2 across the previous seven.
For the Mystics, they headed into the break with a thrilling 90-82 win over the Golden State Valkyries on the road, and an even more thrilling 100-99 at home in the last second, cashing outright as a moderate ‘dog in both. The Mystics have covered three in a row, too.
Let’s back the Mystics to get the job done against the number, and we’ll go Over in this first game between the teams in the nation’s capital, since both offenses should be rested and raring to go.

Indiana Fever (-426) at Seattle Storm (+323) | O/U 172.5 (-112/-108)
The Fever (17-10) head to the Pacific Northwest to tangle with struggling Storm (6-23) at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
These teams just met prior to the break in Indianapolis, and Seattle put up a surprising fight. In the end, though, Clark proved to be too much, going for a career-high 45 points on 11-of-18 shooting, including 6-of-10 from behind the 3-point line. She also added 10 assists in an all-time WNBA performance.
For the Storm, All-Star Dominique Malonga had 28 points on 13-of-22 shooting, while grabbing 14 rebounds in her 29 minutes. Meanwhile, budding frontcourt star Awa Fam had 16 points, nine boards, and two blocks. Seattle actually had five players with 15+ points, and this team is a lot better than its overall record indicates.
Playing at home, catching nearly double digits, the Storm is an attractive play as the underdog, although an outright win isn’t expected.
And, based off of what we saw pre-break, we’ll go Over on the total. The Over is 4-1 in the past five games for Seattle, including that wild game with the Fever, while the Over has cashed in three in a row for Indiana, with triple-digit offensive totals in each. The Over is also 6-1 in the past seven games, and 11-3 in the past 14 outings.
