Atlanta Dream vs. Golden State Valkyries
With the fourth game of the series in Atlanta, the Dream look ready to back the Valkyries into a corner as they try to take a commanding 3-1 lead. The Dream are 4.5-point favorites, with the total at 153.5 points.
My first bet is the under. Golden State seems to have a scoring issue, and I'm not sure it is fixed here on the road. The Valkyries’ series high is only 71 points, and it wouldn't be shocking to see them go under that again. Aside from the last game where it got away from them, their defense has held true, and I must remind everyone that they were the slowest-paced team in the league with the best defense in the regular season.
Throughout the playoffs, however, Atlanta’s defense ranks first by a wide margin. Karl Smesko has really put the team together at the right time, and they are now -285 or shorter to win it all. And tonight I expect them to manage another victory on the back of solid defense and continued play by Angel Reese.
The Dream frontcourt piece has a double-double in all three WNBA Finals games and is even making threes, shooting 3-of-4 from deep. She's cashing on her charity stripe looks and solidifying the interior defense. I expect the Valkyries to try and turn this game into a slog and take the momentum out of Atlanta. But the Dream have been the better team, and with all the missed shots, I fully expect Reese to clear 11.5 rebounds again, as she has in every game so far in this series.
Picks: Under 153.5 (-110 at BetMGM) & Angel Reese Over 11.5 rebounds (-128 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
