WNBA Picks & Predictions: Valkyries vs. Dream (Thursday)
Game 6 of the WNBA Finals is at 12:30 p.m. ET today. I wanted to say this right off the bat, so no one assumes the game will be at night, as usual. There is nothing more frustrating than going to make a bet before what you thought would be an evening tip-off, only to find out the game was at lunchtime and you would have won. That said, let's talk about the best WNBA picks for what may be the final game of the 2026 WNBA season.

Golden State Valkyries at Atlanta Dream
With how Games 2 and 3 played out, the Valkyries appeared done for. Their offense struggled against a solid Atlanta defense, and their defense played well, just not well enough.
But then something clicked for the Valkyries in Game 4. Gabby Williams led the way with 17 points, shooting 33.3% from the floor. The key, however, was their defense. They held Rhyne Howard to 19 points (6-of-14), Jordin Canada to 10 points (3-of-8) and Angel Reese to eight points (2-of-12).
Game 5 was more of the same, with the Valkyries holding Atlanta to 29% from the field and 23% from the perimeter.
The Valkyries have it figured out. After not being a strong offensive team all season, no one expected them to become one in this series. But they needed to lean into what they do best and play absolute lockdown defense, which they finally did in Games 4 and 5.
Can they do it again in Game 6? Absolutely. But it will be a very good, hard-fought game either team can win. However, taking the Atlanta Moneyline at -192 offers no value. But based on the last two games, the Valkyries’ defense is in the zone, making Golden State on the Moneyline at +160 an incredible value play.
If the Valkyries win, they'll do it the same way they won the other three - with solid, shutdown defense and just enough offense to outscore Atlanta. In other words, the score will be low. Golden State's previous wins totaled 132 (Game 1), 129 (Game 4) and 119 (Game 5) points. In their Game 2 loss, the final score tally was 144 points.
Should the Valkyries win (and maybe even if they lose), the final score will not come close to 147.5 points.
Picks: Golden State Moneyline (+160) & Under 147.5 Points (-115)
