Top 5 WNBA Player Prop Bet Odds & Picks: Sunday (10/6)
As we continue through the 2024 WNBA Playoffs, the fourth set of games in the Semi-Finals round features two contests today. Things get started at 3:00 p.m. EST, with New York taking on the Aces in a showdown in Las Vegas, who are currently down two games to one. Following that, Minnesota will be heading to Connecticut in an attempt to stave off elimination against the Sun at 8:00 p.m.
So, without any further preamble, let's jump right into some of our favorite selections for October 6. Here are our top WNBA prop bet picks for Sunday's slate.
Sunday’s Top 5 WNBA Player Prop Bets
Sabrina Ionescu Threes Made Leader (+220)
The New York guard looked unstoppable through the first four games of the 2024 playoffs. Not only was she averaging 24.5 points, the ball was going through the hoop at a 51.9% clip. As for Game 3 against the Aces, oof... That was ugly! In 30 minutes on the floor, Ionescu produced a frail four-point performance, with only one field goal scored.
Before that contest, Ionescu had knocked down at least three shots from beyond the perimeter in all four playoff games. The Oregon superstar did not take less than six attempts from beyond the arc in that span and was connecting on 42.9%.
If the Liberty want to close out the Aces today, the team's most prolific threat from beyond the arc will have to be locked in. We expect a turn-around performance for Ionescu today and, in that process, hopefully hit a payout of +220.
Kelsey Plum Lower 3.5 Assists (-122)
The lofty aspirations of a three-peat are seemingly in peril for the Las Vegas Aces after falling behind 1-2 in the second round of playoff basketball. If this series is to last another day, it will again take a strong offensive performance from Kelsey Plum regarding scoring- subsequently falling short of this assist total.
The Las Vegas guard has combined for three assists over the last two games and has only recorded more than 3.5 in 1-of-5 games during the 2024 playoffs. Plum has also failed to accumulate four assists or more in any home games.
Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young are predominately the team's leaders in assists for most contests. Considering this is a must-win situation, Plum may have to concentrate solely on making as many baskets as possible rather than looking for open teammates.
A'ja Wilson Record 3+ Blocks (+130)
The 2024 WNBA leader in blocked shots is getting plus action in a game where the Aces are going to rely on defense if they want to bring this series to five games. This is easily our favorite spot of the day!
The Las Vegas center has only reached this threshold in 1-of-5 games throughout the playoffs. However, the last contest was quite well in hand, causing Wilson not to receive a full allotment of playing time.
The unanimous MVP award-winner recorded three blocked shots against the Liberty in their last regular season matchup in August.
With such heavy stakes, protecting the rim will have to be at the forefront for Las Vegas. Wilson is by far the best option on the floor for blocks; we feel confident she can produce at least three today.
Napheesa Collier Top 1st Quarter Points Scorer (+160)
This is a correlated selection based on a suggestion we made on Friday, and it appears the payout is even better for this prop. Of all the remaining teams in the 2024 playoffs, Napheesa Collier has scored the most points in the first quarter (8.8 per game). The Minnesota forward has led the first-quarter scoring in all but one game in the post-season and has not played less than 10 minutes in any of those contests.
The Olympic gold medal winner is essential to the Lynx’s success; getting her off to a fast start will only help prevent Minnesota from going home for Game 5.
Collier has averaged 6.0 field-goal attempts in the first quarter over the last four games, and she has converted 60% of those efforts.
Marina Mabrey Higher 15.5 Points (-106)
The mid-season acquisition of Marina Mabrey has certainly paid dividends for the Connecticut Sun. Since joining the team in August, she has scored 16.5 points or more in eight games during the regular season.
Mabrey has finished with above 16.5 points in 3-of-5 games in this playoff series, falling short of the desired total in the last two contests.
After scoring 11 points through three quarters on Friday, Mabrey only made one basket in the fourth. From a field-goal perspective, it was a disastrous performance. The feisty guard from Notre Dame made 6-of-20 attempts, including 1-for-11 from three-point distance, finishing with 14 points.
This is an opportunity for the Sun, who will be playing in front of a home crowd, to force a Game 5 against an extremely tough opponent. The top-scoring options will have to light up the scoreboard, and we expect a much more efficient performance from Mabrey than in Game 3.
Enjoy the games today, and good luck with your picks!
