WNBA Player Props & Bets: Sunday (Mercury vs. Aces)

Five players scored double-digit points for Phoenix in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals on Friday, led by Kahleah Copper with 21 points after she went 5-for-9 from three-point range. The Aces' bench nearly outscored the starters (41 to 48). So, yeah -this series is going to be a great one for betting on WNBA player props.

Will Game 2 be just as thrilling as Game 1? We can only hope so and bet accordingly.

(Odds Courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Alyssa Thomas Under 33.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-130)

Alyssa Thomas has been an absolute beast throughout the postseason, especially when it matters most. She has gone over this total in her last four games, but she barely cleared it in Game 1 on Friday night. However, the Aces appeared to figure out how to slow her down in the second half. Can they keep up the pressure for the entire game?

I don't know, but I do think they'll keep it up enough to hold Thomas under this total.

Same-Game Parlay: Satou Sabally Over 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (-140) & Kahleah Copper Over 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (-160)

Las Vegas practically dared the Mercury to shoot away from three-point range in the second half of Game 1 by switching to a zone defense in an effort to slow Alyssa Thomas down. Phoenix ended up making 14-of-36 three-point attempts, with Satou Sabally making three, and Kahleah Copper connecting on five. If the Aces stick to the zone and encourage more three-pointers, I don't imagine the Mercury will shy away from the challenge.

Both players are certainly quite capable of making at least two threes, but the price for the individual prop is kind of high. However, as a same-game parlay (SGP), there is some value there.

SGP Odds: +168

A'ja Wilson Under 39.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-112)

During the regular season, A’ja Wilson averaged a combined 36.7 points + rebounds + assists. That number has risen to 37.8 during the postseason. Wilson had a combined 36 points + rebounds + assists in Game 1. So, I am not sure why the total for this prop is as high as it is. My only guess is that Wilson is expected to show out in the Finals even more than usual. That doesn't take the Phoenix defense, which is very good, into account.

Now, Wilson did go over this mark in two out of three regular-season games against the Mercury. But I'm going to give Phoenix some credit for stepping up their defense in the playoffs and take the under.

Jackie Young Under 26.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-108)

While several players had solid days in Game 1, Jackie Young underperformed statistically, scoring 10 points and recording just two rebounds and five assists. I don't think she'll have another such day in Game 2. However, the Aces appear to be making a greater effort to get other players involved. Young will still play a crucial role in the game plan, but not enough of one to go over this total.

Take the under.
