Kelsey Plum Over 23.5 Points + Assists (-110)
The last time Kelsey Plum took the court before the All-Star break, she scored 20 points and dished out six assists against the Mystics. Based on that performance and her season averages, it's surprising to see this total set at just 23.5 tonight.
Plum is averaging 20.1 points per game this season, and she's scored at least 20 points in three of her last five games. She's also averaging 5.8 assists per game, and she has at least six assists in three of her last five. She has at least three assists in every game since June 6th, so there's no reason to expect her to struggle to find her teammates in this game.
The Mystics are allowing just 18.7 assists per game this season, but Plum has already proven that their defense doesn't bother her. When you consider that Washington ranks eighth in the league in points allowed per game, it becomes clear that Plum shouldn't have much difficulty replicating her performance from July 15th. This number should be set at her season average. The fact that it's 2.5 below that makes this one of the best plays of the day.
Kayla McBride Over 2.5 Made Three-Pointers (-122)
The Lynx have already played the Sky three times this month, and Kayla McBride has had two solid shooting nights during that span. In her first game against the Sky, she went just 1-of-5 from long range. However, in her next game, she knocked down five of her 12 attempts from beyond the arc. In her most recent meeting with the Sky, she went 3-of-8.
McBride is averaging 2.6 made three-pointers per game, and though she hasn't shot great this month, she's still made at least two threes in six of her nine games. The Sky are allowing opponents to make 37.1% of their three-pointers, and a league-worst 10 threes per game. There's no reason to expect McBride to make two or fewer threes. You could even consider taking her to make at least four for a price of +210.
Skylar Diggins Over 16.5 Points (-113)
July has not been kind to Skylar Diggins. She has scored 14 or fewer points in five of her six games, and the only time she scored more than 20, she was playing the Connecticut Sun and their bottom-ranked scoring defense.
Despite the drought, Diggins is still averaging 17.5 points per game. This speaks to how well she was shooting before this month. Perhaps the time off over the last week will be what she needs to take advantage of a great matchup tonight.
The last time Diggins faced the Wings, she scored just nine points. However, she also only attempted seven shots in that game. I doubt that a player who averages 13.5 field goal attempts per game is going to shoot the ball that little again, especially against a team allowing 86.8 points per contest. After all, Diggins already has a 21-point performance against the Wings this season.
