Las Vegas Aces at Golden State Valkyries

Leg #1: Golden State Valkyries Moneyline (+105)

The Golden State Valkyries opened the season winning five of their first seven games. They get the benefit of home-court advantage today against an Aces team that has a few issues. The Valkyries are coming off a hard-fought two-point victory against Indiana on Thursday and will be looking to bring their current streak to three wins in a row.

Golden State is 4-1 at home to date and has won two consecutive games on its home floor. The Aces have lost two straight games, including their first road loss. Las Vegas could be dealing with personnel issues as frustrations seemingly boiled over to social media after the Aces' loss to Dallas on Thursday.

Chennedy Carter felt it was best to air some grievances about the way the veteran guard is being utilized in the Las Vegas offense. She has a well-publicized history of not getting along with teammates, which has hampered her success. Carter makes up a large portion of the scoring off the bench for the Aces. If issues continue to arise, that could heavily impact the team’s offense.

Another aspect we feel could be problematic for the Aces is Jackie Young’s current play. She is averaging the fewest points per game (10.1) since her rookie season. Young is shooting 34.5% from the field - a far cry from her 47.5% field-goal rate last season. Things get much worse from beyond the arc, where Young is only hitting 18.5% from deep.

The Aces are going to be in every bit of trouble if they cannot get production out of their top-scoring guards. Golden State is limiting the opposition to 78 points per game (lowest in the WNBA) on 41.7% shooting from the field. The Valkyries rank second in defensive rating across the league (99.8), while the Aces rank in the bottom half of the league (106.9).

Leg #2: Veronica Burton 2+ Made Three-Pointers (+108)

Veronica Burton was absolutely on fire in the last contest for Golden State against the Indiana Fever. She finished with a season-high 25 points on a masterful 53.8% shooting from the field. Burton faces an Aces team that's somewhat gracious in regard to allowing three-point baskets.

The Valkyries guard is averaging a career-high 1.9 baskets from beyond the arc this season. Burton has connected on two shots from three-point distance in five out of seven games. The Northwestern alum finished with two three-pointers in two out of the four games played at home in 2026.

Las Vegas is allowing 8.7 three-pointers per game. However, the Aces have conceded 24 baskets from above the perimeter over the last two contests. Burton is coming off a fantastic performance and looks to be in a prime spot to make at least two three-pointers today.

Leg #3: A'ja Wilson 25+ Points (-116)

Things aren't all bad for the Las Vegas Aces to begin the 2026 campaign. A'ja Wilson looks to be in solid form through seven games and is already a candidate to take down her fifth MVP award. She also leads the Aces in scoring.

Laeticia Amihere is an exceptional young talent for the Valkyries, but Wilson owns a sizable edge in outside shooting prowess and athleticism. The Valkyries may ultimately have no answer defensively for the Las Vegas center if she chooses to take over the game.

Wilson is averaging 24.5 points per game, while connecting on 52.5% from the field. The veteran center is hitting a most impressive 64.5% from beyond the arc and averaging two attempts per contest from long distance. Wilson will have to be featured early and often if the Aces want to keep this game close. We expect the reigning MVP to end this contest with 25+ points.
