WNBA Same Game Parlays & Picks: Dream vs. Sky (Tuesday)
Atlanta Dream M/L (-320)
Atlanta enters this contest as a 71.8 percent favorite to win outright against a struggling Chicago Sky team. Since Rickea Jackson suffered a season-ending injury, the offense for the Sky has completely crumbled. Chicago is shooting a league-low 26.3 percent from the three-point line on the season.
The Sky are averaging 77.4 points on 40 percent shooting from the field through five games played. Chicago owns a true shooting percentage below 50 percent, and have lost six out of the last seven games. The Chicago Sky are 1-4 at home on the season. The Sky lost by 17 in their previous contest on Sunday. If you wanted to pump up this parlay and tack up to four points on it, we wouldn't fault you.
Skylar Diggins Under 5.5 Assists (-130)
The next selection is a correlation piece to the parlay, where we hammer down on Chicago's inability to score recently. Skylar Diggins is averaging 4.7 assists per game, and that average continues to dip over the previous seven games. Without Rickea Jackson or Dijonai Carrington on the floor to create space, Chicago is forced into more of an attack defense that doesn't culminate in many assists.
Diggins finished with three assists on Sunday in a game against the Tempo that was projected to be relatively close. The Sky are eight-point underdogs going into this contest. Frustrations seem to be boiling over for Chicago and Skylar Diggins, and that could easily have an effect on such a high assist line this evening. The veteran guard has failed to record six assists or more in four consecutive games.
Angel Reese Over 24.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-320)
We are now entering the Angel Reese portion of our parlay, and with obvious reason. Tonight marks the first time the forward for Atlanta makes her way back to the Wintrust Arena since being traded in the offseason. There are expectations for a big game tonight for those who subscribe to the revenge narrative. While that's not the overarching reason for the next three selections, it certainly stands to reason why one would be confident in that line of thinking.
Angel Reese is putting up 14.7 points, with 11.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists over the previous five contests. The LSU alum is still finding some difficulty finishing shots at the rim. However, Reese has increased her efficiency to 44.4 percent from the field, compared to 41.7 percent on the season.
Angel Reese has successfully accumulated 25+ points, rebounds, and assists or more in four out of the last five games. The forward for the Dream is scoring 11.5 points while grabbing 15 boards in the previous two games.
Angel Reese Over 1.5 Assists (-590)
Angel Reese did not record an assist in Atlanta's previous contest on Saturday. Having said that, the forward for Chicago racked up 22 assists through five games. Saturday's contest marked the first game in which Reese did not finish with at least two assists. Something tells us a repeat performance of failing to tally up two assists is not in the cards tonight.
Reese has taken on a playmaking role this season, averaging a career-high 3.1 assists over 10 games played. The 2+ assists is a remarkably low threshold, and the success rate is at a strong 90 percent. If Chicago elects to send double teams to try to limit Reese in the paint, she has a pair of highly skilled shooters in Alicia Gray and Rhyne Howard to knock down an open look.
Angel Reese Double Double (-190)
Nothing too complicated here. Reese is averaging a double-double on the season and will be returning to Chicago for the first time since being traded. We expect Reese to absolutely smash in this contest and finish with at least 10 points and 10 boards.
The Sky are dead last in regards to rebounding rate, with only 45.7 percent. Reese is one of the best rebounding options in the league, and will face a Chicago team that has proven to have major difficulty securing rebounds. Reaching 10 points and 10 boards should be standard business practice for Reese this evening.
Some of the lines are surprisingly low on Reese, given the revenge narrative, recent form, and a complete defensive collapse for the Sky recently. The young forward scored at least 10 points and 10 rebounds in five out of the previous six contests.
